APRM is an African Union–led, voluntary mechanism through which Member States assess their performance in political, economic & corporate governance

Today, addressing the 18th Ordinary Session of the APRM Continental Consultative Committee of National Governing Councils, I reflected on the @APRMorg’s work over the past two years and the guiding question behind our Strategic Plan 2025–2028: Africa’s Governance Challenges: Are We Winning the Battle? I emphasised that strong national structures remain central to the APRM’s impact. Through the APRM Structures Audit Framework, capacity-building initiatives, the Governance Support Programme and the Africa Governance Index, we continue to support stronger country-level implementation and meaningful governance outcomes. I also welcome Dr. Albert Byamugisha as incoming Chairperson and thank Amb. Ashraf Rashed for his continued contribution to the APRM family.

Yesterday in Sandton, South Africa, our State Minister for Planning and Chair of the APR Committee of APRM Focal Point, @AmosLugoolobi, officially opened the Voluntary National Reviews (#VNRs). @mofpedU @aprm_ug @_AfricanUnion @UNDP @ECA_OFFICIAL #PlanningForDevelopment
