Delighted that this perspective on photobatteries (the dominant topic of my PhD) is out in @Joule_CP. We highlight limitations in the understanding of the physics of these devices, suggest standardized measurement protocols and realistic use cases!

Since my PhD began in October 2021, about 30 papers have been published on different materials that can be used in Li & Zn photobatteries. In research published in @ACSEnergyLett we show that the physics of these systems renders 'photocharging' impossible!

Excited to share the final paper from my undergrad. We use a bit of math to produce a single "effective" refractive index for a core-shell nanoparticle. Accuracies far exceed previous theories. Hopefully this will help speed up your plasmonic calculations! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
