@BengalLens_ @IndianTrainFan Routes are good but not viable at present. People will not be wilking to pay 200 one side. May be once economy of Kolkat region revive it may be possible. State govt dont have funds for such capital heavy projects at present.

Now that stalled infrastructure projects in West Bengal are finally gaining momentum — from metros to expressways, this might be the right time to think a little bigger about regional public transport as well.
Such a network could completely transform mobility, reduce travel time, boost tourism, improve industrial connectivity, and create a stronger economic corridor across Bengal — much like what NCR is witnessing with RRTS today.
With infrastructure-focused planning finally taking shape in the state, why not let the government know the potential that a future-ready rapid rail network can bring to Bengal?

Kolkata to Durgapur and then Durgapur to Purulia Via Bankura
And Kolkata to Berhampur
Should be Via Kolkata-Kalyani-Ranaghat -Krishnanagar- Berhampore

#BREAKING Calcutta High Court has DISMISSED the pleas challenging the #WestBengal Govt’s restriction on cattle slaughter ahead of #Eid.
The court declined a prayer to make an exception on religious grounds under the 1950 Animal Slaughter law and allow the slaughter of buffaloes, oxen etc.
However, it has directed the state to consider whether an exception would be necessary on the account of Eid on 27/28 May within 24 hours.

It would be shameful if Sanjeev Sanyal becomes Finance Minister. That would be betrayal of the huge middle class Bengali mandate for BJP.
TMC is over, it can’t do anything.
But CPIM will replace it. A large part of Bengali middle class used to vote for CPIM.
If an anti Bengali is brought in through backdoor, that would be a good reason to vote differently.
If BJP wanted him so badly as finance minister, it should at least have got the courage to field him in general poll.

CPIML Liberation, West Bengal, (@CpimlWestBengal) has filed a PIL in Calcutta High Court seeking urgent judicial intervention to stop the order issued by the BJP Government invoking an outdated 1950 law to impose severe punitive restrictions on ritual sacrifice of livestock. This is an assault simultaneously on the religious freedom of the Muslim community, on the livelihood of farmers engaged in cattle trade (who are mostly from the Hindu community), on the freedom of citizens to eat according to their choice and on the culinary diversity of West Bengal.
