How does the cell transport cargo around? With motor proteins! Kinesin works by walking along a network of fibers called microtubules, which act as tiny highways within the cell. Kinesin has two "feet" that attach to the microtubules and a long "tail" that carries the cargo.

10 years of my life was building software companies. My last one sold for $100M. I doubt I’ll ever return to pure-play software. So here are my cheat codes:

Over the years, I have tried to share learnings from my startups and seed investing. Decided to combine my startup tweets+tweetstorms into a tweethurricane. Here are my learnings + advice, from pitching investors to getting through the journey:

@WIRED It is apparent that Elon Musk's choice has more to do with finding ways to increase Twitter revenues through Ad sales and finding the right person to do just that (ad agencies concur) while he handles the Product and Tech parts of the business. Nothing to do with "glass cliffs".

@WIRED Bad premise. Poor arguments and conclusion. Bad examples. Marissa Mayer was chosen (albeit incorrectly) after a lot of deliberation and with a lot of hope. Investors had much to lose and did lose $$ because of this mistake. Nothing to do with glass cliff or gender.

According to people who study workplace gender dynamics, Twitter's newest CEO Linda Yaccarino is the latest victim of a pernicious pattern known as the glass cliff. wired.trib.al/JzcegL3

Unpopular opinion: 18 months of runway is not long enough to raise for especially early on. You need multiple “At bats”. V1 likely won’t work, you need time for V2 and V3. You need to go out 6 months pre cash zero day. So 18 months only gives you 12 to execute. 😬

When is the right time to pull the plug on your startup? I'm looking to speak with founders that made the tough decision to shut down their companies. It's an important topic that I'm deep diving into now. Please reply or DM me if you have a story to share. Thanks!

One of my favourite questions to ask founders: "Of all the things you could be doing, why are you doing X?" (X = whatever startup they're running) The opportunity cost of wasting time is significant. Commitment to building a startup is a 5+ year effort. So why this?

ResearchGPT: "An autonomous statistics helper that converts your natural language queries about a data set to insights." Site: phasellm.com/researchgpt Repo: github.com/wgryc/phasellm… Video: youtube.com/watch?v=-fzFCi… What's cool is that it writes python code, executes it, and interprets the result. Uses Claude, but can be swapped to other LLMs. So this is more like StatisticsGPT right now. But imagine having ResearchAssistantGPT talk to StatisticsGPT and VisualizationGPT etc.

@elonmusk Isn't Twitter is conflating *verification* and *subscription* based services ? Why not offer and charge a one time fee for verifying accounts (this is not a monthly service) and offer the subscription model for other / additional services ?

Starting April 15th, only verified accounts will be eligible to be in For You recommendations. The is the only realistic way to address advanced AI bot swarms taking over. It is otherwise a hopeless losing battle. Voting in polls will require verification for same reason.

hadn't noticed earlier, but pretty neat that @Zelle transactions >> checks at @BankofAmerica (from latest earnings) not totally apples to apples use cases, but rent, disbursements (e.g. insurance, rebate payments), other b2b are big growth drivers for zelle and overlap w/check
