But this is not a conflict about entire peoples—it is about leadership, ideology, and choices. Lasting peace will require courageous leadership on all sides, a rejection of extremism, and a commitment to coexistence. Sri Lanka’s role should not be to absorb polarized narratives, but to stand firmly against hate in all its forms—antisemitism, Islamophobia, and extremism—while supporting pathways to peace, dignity, and security for all.
