@SeanTourangeau I find the whole 1000 year time jumping generally difficult for an audience. You have several series running at the same time, but so far apart in the narrative timeline. There's no visual or narrative coherence that would help creating franchise loyalty like in the 90s.

What I would have liked was for the Academy series to have been set in the Picard Era. You could have used some of the same cast but with set after Picard you could have had chances of seeing Legacy characters show up again from time to time to mentor the JV crew as they learn. It wouldn’t have been Legacy but would have gave us a taste. @StarTrek #starfleetacademy Just my 2cents.

@DaveBlass @engadget Haven't watched yet cause of streaming wars, but I found Discovery's season 1 quite stellar dramaturgically. Many series need some time to find their tone and then teally lift off. Disco started very strong and then got weaker in the later seasons as the writers copied Andromeda

@engadget Arena, Balance of Terror, City on the Edge of Forever, Devil in the Dark, The Corbomite Maneuver, Space Seed... and and and. It's a fine series but this type of Hyperbole doesn't help. It becomes rage bait.

@BaronDestructo Rommie all the way. Especially paired with Harper, best interactions. Also cool idea of machine trinity with the two A.I. layers of Andromeda and Rommie arguing when Andromeda was overwritten with an old backup. That show would've absolutely rocked if they hadn't fired Robert.

@BaronDestructo 14 years already? Damn, time flies! I happily remember the TV era where I was eagerly awaiting the newest episode every wednesday evening. Transitioning to the streaming-style short seasons with a continuous storytelling with this?

STARGATE RETURNS! Yes, it’s true.  14 years after the franchise aired its last episode (SGU’s “Gauntlet”), a new Stargate series has been greenlit by Amazon.  And it’s not a reboot or a wholesale reimagining that will wipe the slate clean on 17 seasons and some 350 hours of Stargate history.  It’s a new series that will be the perfect jumping-on point for first-time viewers while, at the same time, honoring the existing past.  And the reason for that is because this new series was created by longtime franchise veteran Martin Gero who worked on SG-1, Atlantis and Universe, writing such notable fan favorites as The Storm, The Eye, Duet, First Strike, Be All My Sins Remember’d and many more. Joining the production of the new series is Brad Wright, co-creator and co-showrunner of all that came before – Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe.  Martin has kindly offered yours truly a role on the project as well and I have happily accepted. Martin has been developing this show for a while now.  A little over a year ago, he reached out and asked “Want to read something cool?”.  That something, it turned out, was his pilot script for the new Stargate series.  Now I obviously can’t say too much about the content at this point – but I can assure you that it embraces everything that made the original Stargates so great: heart, humor, rich mythology, exploration, action, adventure, compelling/endearing characters, and that overall sense of optimism and fun that made you fall in love with Stargate. You are all in for a treat. Eventually. Now putting this production together is going to take some time even though Martin has already done a lot of the preliminary heavy lifting, writing the pilot script and series overview that details the show, its world and characters, as well as his plans for the first season and beyond.  Between now and the series premiere somewhere down the line, the writers room must be assembled, stories need to be spun, scripts written, prep started, crew hired, actors cast and, eventually, a new Stargate series produced. It will take a while but Martin shares my philosophy when it comes to dialing in the fandom, so expect to receive updates throughout the prep, production, and post process.  Concept art, behind-the-scenes photos, videos and insights, breaking news and much much more! @liberalornot @ellamuempert Das Gegenteil ist der Fall, daher hast du im Sport oder auch beim Wandern einen Baselayer mit engem Hautkontakt. Der nimmt die Feuchtigkeit auf und dunstet dann aus. Sobald die Kleidung zu luftig wird, hast du den Schweiß auf der Haut stehen.

@ellamuempert unterschätze nicht, dass ein ganzkörper umhang aus leichtem stoff bei so temperaturen angenehmer ist, als die meiste europäische mode. Nicht umsonst tragen die bei sich zu Hause alle "kleider". da verdunstet der schweiss besser.

Was muss in den muslimischen Frauen vorgehen, die durch ihre Männer gezwungen werden, sich auch bei diesen Temperaturen umfassend zu verhüllen, während ihre Männer leicht bekleidet neben ihnen spazieren? Ich würde diese Männer abgrundtief hassen 🤢

I don't know why it took me so long to finally get back to #MassEffect. The two first games were the most influental for me while studying game design. And it took me 10 more years to finish the 3rd. Feeling deeply moved even after all these years. Thanks, @CaseyDHudson and team!

@markusdd5 I think this might also be interesting to revive carsharing business. Some of the big issues so far have been fleet density vs. occupancy. If you have to walk 5km to the next car, many people won't use it. If you can just call it to your current location, though...

And if you don't believe me: just try to sit down for 5 minutes and try to do the math on a Taxi business that does not have to pay drivers and runs the most efficient and durable powertrain imaginable. The math is completely nuts.

If this works out - which it increasingly looks like it does - it will send several car OEMs, autonomy companies and sensor suppliers into absolute crisis mode. There no point in hyping it up anymore, because anyone who would not listen or like to see it in the past decade doesn't want to see it now or understand the impact of it. Autonomous mobility at scale is probably going to be the Smartphone moment of the late 20s and early 30s. Things will not be the same before and after and commercial/economic valuations will shift accordingly.

@tostspender Mad respect! It's a tough enough challenge to change your entire tech stack and the visual distinction of the series has nonetheless been preserved and feels super familiar. Foliage was always a strong point at CD Projekt, looking forward to see the system live.

Aus Europa wissen wir, dass es Jahrhunderte gedauert hat, sich aus einer theokratisch geführten Gesellschaft weiter zu entwickeln. Ehrlich: Weil ich diese Offensive für richtig halte. Ich teile mittlerweile die Auffassung, dass nur eine komplette Besetzung und ein westlich gesteuerter Wiederaufbau von Gaza zu einer dauerhaften Befriedung führen wird. Ich möchte dort keinen einzigen meiner Steuer-€ mehr hingehen sehen bis dessen Verteilung komplett in der Hand Israels oder uns bzw. unseren Verbündeten liegt.

Irgendwer bei Ubisoft hat ABSOLUT KEINEN BOCK MEHR auf den Bullshit und ich liebe es.

Nagel- und Fußpflege kosten selbst im günstigen asiatischen Nagelstudio hier zusammen ca. 70-80 Euro. IM MONAT. So und wer 70-80 Euro im Monat für Gelnägel übrig hat, der kann mir nicht erzählen, dass Bürgergeld zu wenig ist. Fertig. Wer sich in die Öffentlichkeit stellt und bei Hart aber Fair mehr von meinem hart erhustleten Geld fordert, muss sich eben Kritik stellen.

@marim686 Die Energiekosten sind ca. 5x so hoch, wie bei einer solchen Grundmiete und dem häufigsten Energieträger Gas zu erwarten wäre. Kann man aber erst näher bestimmen, wenn man weiß, wieviel Quadratmeter die Wohnung hat, sonst sind die Werte sehr arbiträr.

@markusdd5 Das kenne ich nich aus Piraten-Zeiten: Es gibt typischerweise einen sozialliberalen und einen eher konservativ liberalen Flügel. Und halt knallharte Ideologen, die sich in der Partei geirrt haben, das würde BSW erklären.
