This is actually a fantastic question and it made me think a lot lol 🫶 For me this comparison is about a specific feeling, not claiming equal scope or quality. Batman Arkham Asylum had smooth, impactful, juicy freeflow combat and I always wanted to play something that gave me a similar feeling but with blades and more violence So no my game is not “Batman in every sense.” But if someone says “Batman type combat but with blood and a katana,” that is genuinely the lane Also there’s a free demo so the risk of mismatch is pretty low

@ari__pc i’ve seen a lot of devs compare their games to big hits for visibility, which makes sense. but don’t you think it can hurt the game when players realize it’s nothing like the title that drew them in?

Shit shit I woke up again and this is at 440K+ now and somehow I’m 1700+ followers, and I had publishers and media outlets emailing me. Last weeks been crazy - demo is out, people loving it, Steam rating is positive. I’ve been building this game solo and it felt like massive gamble sometimes, so seeing people care feels UNREAL. @ari__pc Arkham freeflow with a katana is such an obvious gap and nobody has properly filled it. Ghostrunner came close on speed but dropped the combat depth. This pitch alone could get funded. Get the demo in people's hands before you overthink the scope.
