After the 'not at all wrong' salutes, and the ascent of the broligopoly, I'm teetering on deleting. The choice of alternatives seems a lot clearer after Zuck's volte-face/farce, so please consider blue sky, you can find me at: @martypike.bsky.social Take care people.

every time T***p speaks of a Black woman he calls her a "low IQ person." T***p knows that of all demographics it has been Black women who have most consistently recognized him for the empty shell that he is, not only low-IQ but low in morals, competence, humanity. plenty of other women have seen through T***p, & plenty of men, but over all, it has been Black women who have most consistently seen through him & fearlessly opposed him.

Tim Cook donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration. He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions). Apple donated to Trump’s ballroom. And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores after a demand from the DOJ. Remember this.

It's an absolute disgrace that the US would endorse any candidate in any free European election - but to endorse the pro-Putin candidate shows just how far from democratic norms The US has is willing to go. I guarantee he'll be here campaigning for Farage before too long. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Stephen Miller praised Trump for several minutes. Then Trump turned to Kash Patel and said, “Kash, see if you can top that.” Patel: “Mr. President, thank you for delivering the safest country on God’s green Earth.” Straight up North Korea vibes

@armagny It was a toss of the coin, the duet was very polished, whilst the solo had a certain 'rawness' I almost felt. Lana is a wonderful singer and entertainer. I've seen enough concert clips to think that she would be wonderful to see live.

The war in Iran has already cost $22.8 billion. For $22.8 billion, we could: • Provide Medicaid to 6.8 million kids • Build 2.6 million public housing units • Fund Head Start for 1.3 million • Hire 240,000 teachers • Cancel $20,000 in student debt for 1 million borrowers

If a Democratic president had bumblefucked his way into a war with Iran and sent gas prices higher than a Musk rocket, the Republicans would be screaming for impeachment.

Having done more than his fair bit to convince America to vote for a corrupt imbecile who would very predictably blow up the world, Joe Rogan is now amazed at how "unstable and fucked" the world has become thanks to said corrupt imbecile he helped elect.

Hawkish on Monday, panicked on Friday. The same political class that mocked Albanese for not leaning hard enough into Trump’s attack on Iran was, days later, crying poor over the oil shock that attack helped unleash. It is yet another example of why establishment politics, especially on the conservative side, is facing an existential crisis. Every event, every shock, every national challenge is now treated first and foremost as a political weapon. Nothing is processed with consistency. Nothing is weighed up beyond the next attack line, the next outrage cycle, the next opportunity to land a blow. And that is exactly the problem. Within weeks, often days, the contradiction is exposed. Demand a more aggressive posture abroad, then recoil from the economic consequences at home. Talk strength when the cameras are on, then complain when households and businesses wear the cost. It is politics emptied of strategy, discipline and seriousness. Voters are not stupid. They can see that much of the old conservative political class no longer believes in anything beyond immediate advantage. That every crisis is simply content. Every conflict is an opportunity. Every consequence is someone else’s fault. This is why trust for them keeps collapsing. Not just because people are angry, but because they are watching political actors contradict themselves in real time, over and over again. A system that politicises everything eventually loses the authority to manage anything.
