@timAcatsoftpaws the Royal Guard (who were referred to as Praetorian behind the scenes and in discussions with my friends in the '90s) were not explained at all in the films. i ar agree. the sequels honored and exceeded star wars standards.

The Royal Guards are not the same as the Praetorian Guards. But the movies don't do any work in explaining that.

The worst thing about this scene is that it implies Luke taught Leia how to maintain her consciousness after death even though she only trained as a Jedi for ONE YEAR or less. Or, Leia didn't need training and manifested through willpower like Anakin did, in canon.

@AvatarKyber the arrogance of the jedi was a concept patched on later, as Lucas began to realize just how self-important he had made this dogmatic religion. jedi were an ideal before. they eventually became a problem, and Rian Johnson could see this story element clearly.

@AvatarKyber how does it spoon feed you anything? the complaint i have heard for years is the opposite, that it doesn't give enough exposition. i find both claims to be silly. the movie did what it intended to do. and no, the other films did not intend to conclude how arrogant the jedi were.

2/10. I can’t believe this is the Star Wars film that’s praised to the sky as this auteur driven work if cinema that “does something new” when all it does it merely TALK about moving forward and outright spoonfeed you all the themes and conclusions we get from the other films.

It costs children ages 3-11 $23 Lucky people in Illinois some days get a discount and get in for $26 I swear I am not making this up—but they are REQUIRED TO SHOW ID, and be scanned before entering! I thought democrats didn’t like showing their identifications 🙄 I think after everything Obama has done to “fundamentally change” America isn’t worth paying $30 to see. Would you pay 🤔

Being completely real when I say that Rey is legitimately one of the greatest Star Wars characters ever and I can’t wait for her to return in future stories.
