@jmwilt21 @hapeleuta But it was noticeably more expensive. Take me back to 2020 or 2021, and I'll be buying the Neo for $499. That was when I got my first Mac. My point is that a lot of people are still going to be fine with it. They can also choose to get a refurbished unit if they wish.

It's 2026 and you will still get a mob of Apple fanatics calling you mentally disabled if you say that 8gb of ram isn't enough for a laptop.

@jmwilt21 @musetechh You’ve heard many people say the opposite, yet some claim it’s fine for them. I don’t quite understand the tech community again. You’re simply not part of the intended audience. If needed, just get a different Mac or an older model.

I think I'm a little less impressed with the new MacBook Neo than a lot of people are. The $600 model comes with 256gb. That's not enough for people buying a laptop to use for several years, especially students. So you upgrade to 512gb, but now the price is $700. Not terrible, but the kicker is that you still only get 8gb of ram. The A18 Pro is a fine chip. I believe it will give similar performance to M1, maybe slightly better even. But we all know 8gb ram MacBooks have not aged well. Even for the low price, we still need a level of future proofing that I don't think is happening here. Makes much more sense to catch an M4, M3, or even M2 MacBook Air on sale for a similar price with 16gb ram. I think if Apple simply put 12 or 16gb of ram it would have made a lot more sense.

@techlegend78 @saaaanjjjuuu That’s not a new glitch. Simply bring down the Notification Center while you’re on the Home Screen. Don’t let go otherwise the home screen will no longer be visible. Look at the screenshot closely, I guess that’s how it was taken too

@iamrollandex Useless since the first thing any thief does it enter airplane mode to prevent iCloud find my phone. You need to set airplane mode On as the trigger for a script that disables it, takes a front photo and the location and saves to a note on your own iCloud and also emails it.

@durreadan01 Installed iOS 26 Public beta on iOS on iPhone 12 Pro Max. I got used to liquid glass. It just feels normal now. There are a lot of animations stutters though.

How did people suddenly come to the conclusion that UI and looks aren't important? It makes no sense. 😶 Looks are as important as the functionality itself, if not more. If companies didn't work on looks, our phones would still look like how they did 20 years ago. Android and iOS would like they're running in command prompt. Outside of tech, imagine what our cars would look like if companies didn't pay attention to looks. Literally everything around is made to look good. This argument holds no ground at all.

@Lumeko_tan @app_settings The Dynamic Island is mostly software. If the sensor and front camera end up under the display, it can still exist when a live activity is in progress. They may just make adjustments to the implementation

@mweinbach I have all of my apple devices running all of the new beta software and when I look at iOS 18 for example it looks dated and liquid glass is gorgeous.

I did not like this video. There was no why… no proving points, no “this is why I think this” Just complaining about change and things that’ll obviously be tweaked over the next 3 months.
