Every famous death in The Odyssey is the same crime.
The Trojan War? Started because a houseguest stole his host's wife. The cyclops? Blinded for eating his visitors. The suitors? Slaughtered for overstaying their welcome in another man's home.
Nolan read it correctly. Homer wrote 3,000 years ago about one thing: how you treat strangers decides whether civilization holds.
Here's why the Greeks were obsessed with it. Ancient Greece had no hotels, no cops, no ID. If you traveled anywhere, you knocked on a stranger's door and hoped.
So they made hospitality sacred. Feed the stranger. Give him a bed. Don't ask his name until after dinner. Zeus himself enforced the rule, and any beggar at your door might be a god in disguise. So you treated every stranger like a king.
Break the rule and the gods break you. That's the entire plot.
We still carry the proof in our mouths. Guest, host, and hostile all come from the same ancient word. A stranger at your door was always both things at once.

Just so everyone is clear, this woman was almost certainly telling her daughter to wear a mask and social distance. We know from multiple studies that the masks do nothing and the social distancing 6 foot thing was literally totally made up by the CDC. He is encouraging this woman to cut her children out based purely on fantasies and delusions in her mind.

Vec nakon prvih scena - tetovirani reper mlati stapom i dere se kao da je u Kvinsu, Elen / Eliot Pejdz sa svojih 1,50m i 25kg trckara u oklopu po plazi, shvatio sam da je svaki kriticar bio u pravu...Pa oni trojanski oklopi od stiropora, dijalozi na groznom americkom akcentu koji te poptuno izmestaju iz osecaja da gledas ekranizovani grcki ep, Homera covece...bas skrnavljenje. Skupio je glumce kao za ekranizaciju Marvel stripa, a ne Homera, svaki glumac je bio ocajan izbor za tu ulogu, ni u jednom trenutku nisam video likove koje tumace, video sam samo te glumce imenom i prezimenom. Indusi, azijati i sub-saharski crnci koji se predstavljaju "We are Greeks from Ithaca"...katastrofa ziva, potpuno nepostovanje izvornog materijala i kulture jedne civilizacije. I da, film je vizuelni medij, izgled glumaca u odnosu na izvorni materijal i likove koje tumace je jako bitan. Dakle, Lupita je sjajna glumica, ali to ne vredi nista kad prosto ne odgovara liku koji tumaci. Nemam osecaj da gledam Jelenu trojansku, nego neku heroinu iz Wakande. Tehnicki aspekt, Nolan kao Nolan, sve je na vrhunskom nivou. Ali film je takav pretenciozni promasaj karijere. Samo je niz dlaku holivudskim trendovima pa ce ga kriticari bliski istom oceniti kao generacijski film, sto nije ni blizu... Naravno, imate pravo da Vam se ovo sve dopada.

Today, Parliament is adopting constitutional amendments that unlawfully remove the sitting President of the Republic and ban sitting opposition MPs from running for re-election. The former Prime Minister had already been banned from running again. This marks the beginning of a constitutional crisis that could last for years. Ironically, it is being created by the party with the largest parliamentary majority in Hungary’s democratic history. Why? Because, like their liberal authoritarian allies in Brussels, they may have won the election, but they know they deceived their voters. And they fear that, in a free and fair democratic contest, they would be voted out. A government that fears the voters will always end up fearing democracy itself.
