@JoeyheronCSCS Once technique breaks down and a person starts leaning forward on they toes and back starts humping over then he or she has reach his range of motion
@artdog97 Can you share it?
The biggest risk is being weak anywhere.
Football is one of the most unpredictable and physically demanding sports.
Sometimes it’s played with 300 lb men on top you in a less than optimal position while a 200 lb man is coming in hot at your knees.
Just curious…
Who would count this?
We don’t. We use TX powerlifting depth (hip crease below top of the knee).
We have to hold the kids to the same standard because we give out award shirts.
Still proud of our 140 lb kicker, but he’s got a couple more inches to go.
@JoeyheronCSCS I coach it and played it at high level and I’m speaking from own experiences. I was well over 600 squat guy and 445 on bench and my joints took a beating doing it the old way to be honest everyone squat will not look the same. Some femurs are different size for one.
@caseywilliams46@JoeyheronCSCS This is factual. Research shows 90 degree is the best and safest way and increases strength by maintaining tension throughout the whole lift once you go below 90 it’s notes risk than reward
@JoeyheronCSCS If he’s training to compete in powerlifting then no, this is not a squat to depth.
If his primary goal is training for football, then this is more than sufficient depth.
@FinzZombie@PFF_Dolphins You must ain’t watch him in Tennessee he was top against the pass and this year he was good against it but Vic loved baker and 43 in some pass defense packages and baker was terrible and 43 is better on the edge. Led the team in tackles playing less than baker
@Lopranos718@finscentral I have no idea but you watching the games. I more surprised that the coaches watching it and ok with it but I know they paid him so they gotta stick with him but it’s going to cost them
@lockpeakshed Gotta play that 3 to the boundary and you can bring the weak backer inside. To the field if you get fan block let the end come underneath don’t worry about reach push everything out and give that back side safety a gap
@craigroh@cfbdoc1 Very true but I’ve coached 12 pros and the stable home one did well. I know what he’s saying I think he can’t make that generalized statement though.
@Browns1993@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports Clearly your reality is totally different from mine. You can’t do any sport just during the season and expect to be good. My point was other sports including track have the option to play almost all year around and they do
@artdog97@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports Indoor track isn’t an sanctioned school sport. Also AAU isn’t school either. My boy. Most track programs are going from first day of track till June. Maybe some conditioning for off season kids.
@Browns1993@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports Indoor track is November to beginning of march. Track season is March until mid to late may. Aau is June until august is nationals. Ask any track person my boy
@artdog97@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports Sir with all due respect, are you saying nine months for a track is one of the funniest things I’ve read on this app. OHSAA can’t control the “travel” part of other sports. But can on this.
@Browns1993@artdog97@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports Thank for the kind words. I think it will be up to athletic directors to make sure that coaches are fair with their players. If coaches are not ultimately it’s only going to hurt their programs, whether that be football coaches or spring coaches.
@artdog97@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports The other question is why is football so special it need an off-season program during the school year? Does baseball, basketball and lax have fall ball? Maybe for those that don’t play football or soccer. Maybe allowing 7 on 7 could be a start.
@Browns1993@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports No it’s very simple. The spring spot take priority. Spring is to develop. Fundamentals and teaching is spring. So you don’t rush and try and teach it and get ready for a game in the fall
@artdog97@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports Spring games are literally in the middle of tournaments season for every single spring sport. You are going to have to ask athletes to either miss spring tournament or play football. The star quarterback, who is also a great picture. Might have to decide what to play.
@taylorfc4@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports We no kids that play lacrosse will play lacrosse. If they play baseball play baseball. If we start spring ball mid may it loyally the end of all the seasons and we still catch recruiters
@artdog97@MonarchWrestle@ohsfca@OHSAASports Wouldn't having spring ball reinforce specialization? Your baseball, lacrosse, and track athletes wouldn't be able to participate in both.
