Spanberger had vetoed every single piece of legislation that motivated me to vote. She’s a total disaster of a governor who’s betrayed the very people who voted and volunteered for her.

@artecat23 @vilujidiot Democrats didn’t want to touch Mamdani with a 30ft poll till last second. And that’s someone who is very milquetoast on a electoralist - radical spectrum. There’s clear appetite for a different path, but also a clear concerted effort to enforce status quo

@artecat23 @vilujidiot 1. Refuse DNC blackmailing like you are doing rn 2. Vote morals and ideology first, not party line 3. Support Greens, P&F, Independents and anyone who doesn’t take corpo $$ and aligns with funding healthcare, divesting from genocidal regimes, reducing military spending etc

@JoshTBVO I hope people learn a lesson from this. Dems are not interested in helping you. Voting for either of the 2 major parties is a waste of a vote

lots of people defending quince in my replies, seemingly a mixture of bots and people who work in marketing and brand strategy. but anyway, the ceo sid gupta literally promotes quince as a company where "sustainability as a standard, not a luxury"! thefashionglobe.com/quince-sustain…

@artecat23 anything operating at the scale of quince (a dizzying array of products, "mid-season" drops) is fast fashion, and they are even less transparent than everlane about the labor and ecological standards of their supply chain. there's a map of factories but it's not clickable.

The single biggest problem for Democrats is working class men and candidates like Platner and Sayed can over time help solve that problem.

@nerdosyndical yah that is not why working class voters are drifting right. most working class people are not in unions nor are they paying attention to this issue.

Watching libs cheer on strikebreaking against the LIRR workers on the supposition that those workers must be republicans, and these people wonder why the Democratic Party is hemorrhaging working class voters.

@andrewperezdc I love that they give the cost of one option (phrased in the worst possible way) and absolutely no mention of the cost of the other option.

@andrewperezdc Bad framing. People would still be able to purchase supplemental private insurance. And a public option wouldn’t work since private insurers would reject insurance for sick/poor people, forcing them on to the public plan and over stressing it

It’s called “single-payer” for a reason! The defining feature of Medicare for All is that private health insurance would be replaced with a single government plan. Whether or not you support M4A, no one is doing themselves any favors by thinking that the defining feature of M4A is meaningfully mitigated by the highly contingent possibility that *some* people *might* be able to purchase *some* form of supplemental insurance for things like catastrophic care—a possibility contingent entirely on private insurers deciding it is still profitable to offer such plans, and then doubly contingent on those plans not being scams. Even then, your main health care plan would’ve been replaced by a single government plan! If we pass M4A, the main thing that will happen is that the government will replace private health insurance. That’s the whole reason M4A supporters like it!

@AshDHarrington @AJentleson medicare for all ≠ medicare. so it is entirely accurate to say that m4a would mean no deductibles premiums co pays.

@AJentleson How about the fact that the way this question is phrased is completely inaccurate and not how Medicare works? At all. It has premiums, deductibles, private insurers (to those who opt in or are forced to opt in as dual eligibles in many states).
