Slugs love residue and canola. This kind of stand loss is a common site in high residue fields, unfortunately. #wintercanola

@boersy79 @megnmoran Also I already plan to plant WC notill in four years again if i am still around, but will incorporate what I will have learned in the meantime. You can decide what you want to do.

@boersy79 @megnmoran fact check. I planted wc three times before. twice very successfully and the third time I planted too late and got nailed by slugs. you might learn something at my expense and the tuition is free. I will even buy you a coffee.

@boersy79 @megnmoran I would be happy to share what I learned about slug biology and behaviour by researching the scientific literature during the winter months and talking to other experts.

@boersy79 @megnmoran Also it would be more polite to identify yourself so we can have a civil conversation based on science rather than speculation. If the really big plants bolt, then I would agree that it was planted too early. If it doesn’t all bets are off.
