yesterday I visited the Harish-Chandra Research Institute in Prayagraj for some work. While I was there, someone casually mentioned the name Ashoke Sen I had never heard of him before. But the more I asked, the more I was stunned. If voters can HIRE a neta, they should be able to FIRE the neta too. If Indian voters have the Right to Elect, they should have the ‘RIGHT TO RECALL’ too. Right to Recall is a mechanism that empowers voters to de-elect an elected representative, before their term ends, if they fail to discharge their duties. If we can impeach the President, the Vice President and judges, and move a no confidence motion against an elected government mid term, then why should voters be forced to tolerate a non performing MP or MLA for five full years. Five years is too long. There is no profession where you underperform for five years with zero consequences. More than 24 democracies in the world such as the United States, Switzerland etc. provide arecall or voter initiated removal mechanisms in some form. If Indian voters have the right to elect, they should have the right to recall too. However, there should be safeguards to prevent misuse: Threshold - At least 35 to 40 percent voters should back a recall trigger through a verified petition before any recall vote is held Cooling period - A minimum 18 month lock in after election so the representative has time to deliver and cannot be targeted immediately after winning Clear grounds- Recall only for proven misconduct, fraud, corruption or serious neglect of duty, not everyday political disagreements Final test- Recall succeeds only if more than 50 percent voters support removal in the recall vote This is citizen empowerment. It will push parties to field performers, reduce corruption, and bring democracy back to accountability. Voters have the right to vote someone into office and they should have the right to vote them out of office too.

माननीय केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री JP Nadda जी, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) आज पूरी तरह निष्प्रभावी और नाकाम दिखाई दे रही है। देश में बिकने वाले लगभग हर खाद्य उत्पाद में मिलावट आम हो चुकी है—नकली घी , दूषित दूध , जहरीले मसाले, एक्सपायर्ड और घटिया पैकेज्ड फूड खुलेआम बिक रहे हैं। सवाल सीधा है कि FSSAI के अधिकारी आखिर कर क्या रहे हैं?? जनता की सेहत दांव पर लगी है, लेकिन न ज़मीनी जांच, न सख़्त कार्रवाई, न जवाबदेही दिखती है। लाइसेंस आसानी से मिल जाते हैं, शिकायतें दबा दी जाती हैं, और पकड़े जाने पर भी कंपनियाँ बच निकलती हैं। यह सिर्फ लापरवाही नहीं, संस्थागत मिलीभगत की आशंका पैदा करता है। आपसे सीधी मांग है—FSSAI में कार्यरत अधिकारियों के बैंक खातों, संपत्तियों, आय के स्रोतों और जीवनशैली की गहन जांच करवाई जाए। सच सामने आते ही तस्वीर साफ़ हो जाएगी कि जनता जहर क्यों खा रही है और सिस्टम क्यों चुप है। अब नोटिस और निर्देश नहीं , जवाबदेही , दंड और संरचनात्मक सुधार चाहिए—ताकि देश की थाली सुरक्षित हो सके।

A Chemical Banned in Italy. Now India Is Being Asked to Live With It. Most people have never heard of PFAS. They are often called “𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀” because once they enter water, soil, or the human body, they almost never leave. But that is not the news. The news is that chemicals that many countries have 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 are now being produced in India. Reports show that before this shift, a major PFAS manufacturing operation was 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆. Italian authorities later found PFAS contaminating 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀, and 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀. The scale of pollution was so severe that the 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁, and its executives were sent to prison. PFAS production, however, did not disappear. It simply 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗱. Shifted to a country where people are already struggling with industrial chemical discharge into rivers. And who pays the price? Not corporations. Not urban elites. It is 𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻. ----------------------- As 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁 has pointed out, ecological damage is never neutral. It is always an injustice to the poor, those with the least power, the least awareness, and the least ability to resist. This is why, if people remain unawakened, such issues will never receive limelight. And when there is no public pressure, why would leaders feel any urgency to act?

Dear @fssaiindia, Why is Frozen Dessert filled with Sugar, Palm Oil, Additives, Color & Chemicals allowed to be sold in India under Prominent Brands? In Other Countries, Real Ice Cream is Sold. The Quality of the Product is also better from the same Brand in other Countries. The same applies to chocolates as well. Isn't Citizens Health your Concern? Why are sub standard products sold in our country? Why aren't you banning Unhealthy Products? We need an answer. Request my audience to amplify this unless some action is taken. #FI

I challenge the Government of India & @DoT_India to launch an app called रिश्वत विरोधी (Anti Bribe) Let it come pre-installed in all Phones. It can have permissions for microphone & camera. Let all Government Services be listed with Location access. When anyone has any Government related services to avail, they should log it here. They should be allowed to record their conversation with the Government Officials & report Corruption immediately. Let Officials Fear hundred times before even Thinking about taking a Bribe. Officials should be immediately penalised if they are guilty. Build AI models to ensure that data will be genuine and not compromised. Educate Citizens on how to use it. Citizens will appreciate it more. Sanchar Saathi is good, but can wait. Bribes are Bigger Problem in India. If you are reading this and feel this is more important than Sanchar Saathi, tag relevant ministers and share on your timeline. Let this be done.... #FI

Our society has degenerated from corrupt society to blatantly corrupt society. Son of a politician buys a govt land worth Rs 1600 cr for Rs 300 cr , if that was not enough . He also sought exemption on stamp duty and gets it . Only when the stamp duty issue was exposed, the whole matter came to light. The minister claims he doesn’t know anything about his son buying govt land worth Rs 1600cr. His son who is 99% shareholder of the company which bought the land , claims he doesn’t know anything about the transaction , most likely despite being signatory to all docs. Meanwhile ordinary citizen is lining up to exchange currency when demonetised and answering 10k question on simple delay of GST or Income tax filing. How is this rule of law ?

But here goes once more INFRASTRUCTURE : - 15,000 buses, connecting the city in a hub & spoke model; build Bus Priority Lane; build good bus stops - fast track suburban rail - fast track the metro’s - lay GOOD roads - ensure footpaths are walkable CLEAN UP - clean up the city and remove the garbage - remove encroachment from the footpaths - penalise the dangling cables owners TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT - needs to be said - Blr City Traffic does not know how to do its job. Or how to design traffic improvement routes. Senior team and man on ground needs crash course in traffic management - AI cameras are useless - if they are never used 🙄 - increase capacity in the ranks; Whitefield Team is severely understaffed If the above are taken care of - city traffic will improve. 💯
