چاندنی جھانکتی رہتی ہے مری کھڑکی سے کیا خبر چاند کسی روز یہاں پر اترے کشف ہو پھر سے محبت کا صحیفہ نیلمؔ اور وہ پھر سے مرے شوقِ بیاں پر اترے #نیلم_بھٹی

غزل دل فسردہ ہے کوئی حرف کہاں پر اترے شعر کیونکر ہو، غزل کیسے زباں پر اترے موجۂ شوقِ نظر جونہی وہاں پر اترے ریت کا تپتا بدن آبِ رواں پر اترے جانے کس شہر میں اور کس کے مکاں پر اترے موسمِ وصل کی مرضی ہے جہاں پر اترے

غزل حسین ثاقب زندگی میں کارِ الفت گرچہ لاحاصِل نہ تھا کیا کریں اس کا ہمیں کچھ ملکہ حاصل نہ تھا جبر کے اس دور میں رزقِ نوا حاصل نہ تھا ماسوا اس کے جہاں میں اور کیا حاصل نہ تھا گھیر رکھا تھا بلائے عاشقی نے اور ہمیں وہ جو تھا اک نسخۂ ردِ بلا حاصل نہ تھا دردِ دل بھی آپ ہی سے تحفتاً حاصل ہوا آپ ہی سے تحفۂ مہر و وفا حاصل نہ تھا کاروبارِ عشق میں کچھ بھی نہ تھا حاصل حصول سوچتا ہوں یہ تو میری عمر کا حاصل نہ تھا آپ کے ہوتے ہوئے قتلِ عمد تو درکنار آرزوؤں کا بھی کوئی خوں بہا حاصل نہ تھا سجدۂ تعظیم ثاقب ہم بجا لاتے مگر شومیِ قسمت سے ان کا نقشِ پا حاصل نہ تھا

@_amitbehere We saw our country change for the worse. We saw ourselves change for the worse. That wave has certainly lost its allure. People get tired of the unspoken obligation of carrying hate in their hearts. It’s hard work.

One gets the sense that both Indian and Pakistani societies are passing through a smelly, toxic religious gutter. But India seems to be at beginning of their journey. And Pakistan closer to the end, or at least the middle. If that is true, this is worse news for India than Pakistan. PS: I see a lot more humility and self reflection among Pakistani people (granted a small sample size) and a lot of unwarranted arrogance among Indians.
