@RealIronMike Great way to do it in my opinion, as well. Also lets them recover more easily for the next one, a couple days later. @coachjayjohnson always says they should feel like they could do one more and could have sped up.

I don’t run kids to exhaustion/failure. Last one, fast one leads to running until your body fails. I love it when they complain that workouts ‘were too easy.’ When they hit target times, they have a success in their heads & success become a habit. Workouts are for the body & mind

Only real track and field coaches know my pain 😂 The Pole Vault Mat put away until next season This group of guys (@SCHS_TandF_XC ) was extremely helpful Some districts have the maintenance crew store it, and in other districts, the program is responsible for storage 💪🏽

@DougSoles Can you give some examples of the HIIT work that your teams used?

I actually agree with Steve on most things. We just won an NXN Title with this as a component of training. It is interesting to watch people criticize HIIT work, and yet my programs have used it and found tremendous success. A great reminder that nobody has all the answers.
