Unpopular opinion: the official account deleting a tweet isn’t a big deal. The other teasers for $POLY are still right there. It’s too early for pessimism. A teaser posted on the official account could be risky, so the deletion was likely to avoid that risk.

Despite all the pessimism and frustration, I still believe we’ll see $POLY sooner rather than later. This isn’t just blind optimism or naive faith. They pivoted sharply into silence right after some heavy teasing. If the teasing had been about farming, they would’ve teased even harder right now — during the World Cup. In that sense, that wasn’t their intention behind the teasing. And one of the best companies in Web3 has no reason to pull something like that. In reality, plenty of projects go quiet right before a token launch, and that drives a lot of users into pessimism. I think Polymarket is simply walking a similar path. We just have to trust and wait. I still believe in them and trust them.

I'm thinking of buying some $POLY by end of Sept/Dec shares here. Even if you’re skeptical, the team probably still has one more chance to juice expectations with a teaser video (like OpenSea did back in the day). Worst case, you just sell into that hype. What am I missing?

Some thoughts on Polymarket and $POLY A month ago, I wrote a piece arguing that while mainstream crypto exchanges led the way in popularizing futures trading, Polymarket could be the one to follow up and bring options trading to the masses. That belief still holds — but Polymarket’s direction and vision have me anticipating something far bigger. With the launch of Perps, you can hedge not only your own options but across a whole range of angles (a bullish bet on CL, an Up option on BTC), and even tap into the related political and geopolitical prediction markets. Shall we take it a step further? Right now, Polymarket is making a push to replace the traditional sportsbook by offering Combos on Sports. In fact, plenty of Combo bets are already being placed in the World Cup markets, with a wide range of options opening up a wide range of choices. I’m not sure if it’s truly feasible (though I believe Polymarket will make it happen) — but if enough market makers show up for Combo options, we could see all kinds of Combo bets not just across Sports, but spanning politics, geopolitics, stocks, and crypto. Ultimately, if Combos become possible, I think they’ll unlock endless potential across all kinds of domains. And this is exactly what sets Polymarket apart. There are plenty of platforms that call themselves “prediction markets.” But I think Polymarket is the only one taking a truly unique path toward becoming a market where you can trade genuine “prediction.” In today’s market, prediction markets are firmly mainstream. There’s massive trading volume, a large active user base — and Polymarket sits right at the center of it all. In the end, given all of this, I believe $POLY will be worth more than anything you could imagine. I want to be part of this journey all the way to the end.
