@CardGameNomad As someone who didnt grow up with gen 1 i hated seeing these in every tin and box i opened. It shoudve been a special set and not shoved into every late era xy / early sm product.

Evolutions sat under $100 a box for ~4 years. In 2018 you could barely move a box at $60, and packs were stuffed into collection boxes b/c they wouldn’t sell. It took Logan Paul and a pandemic to revive the set — so yes, chase cards mattered while it was in print.
