Why Indian Gen Z will never attempt a Nepal-like coup: 1. Awareness: Except for a tiny elite/woke bubble that makes the most noise, Indian Gen Z is far more informed than people think. You can’t manipulate them with cooked-up slogans like "vote chori" or "democracy under threat" and expect millions to march blindly. They check, question, and scroll before acting. 2. Forces: The biggest safeguard is India’s armed forces, firmly apolitical and loyal to the chair. Add the state’s strong grip on police and surveillance, and regime-toppling street movements are impossible. 3. Democracy Outlet: Elections every 5 years provide a release valve. Even the most frustrated youth know they can use the ballot, unlike in authoritarian states where protests feel like the only option. 4. Career Pressure: Life here is cut-throat. Exams, unemployment, and family expectations make protests too risky, nobody wants cases or police records ruining their shot at a job. Banda apna career banaye ya tumhare zabardasti ke samvidhan bachao yatra me laathi khaye? 5. Digital Protest: Gen Z vents online through memes, reels, hashtags. It’s safer, quicker, and still reaches millions. Nepal made the fatal mistake of cutting this outlet, had they not, much dissent would’ve stayed only virtual. 6. Diversity of Anger: Yes, frustration exists, but it’s fractured, caste, language, region, ideology. It rarely converges into one united “regime change” movement. 7. Family & Society: In Europe or Latin America, parents tolerate kids striking or protesting. In India, you’ll be dragged home for skipping classes. Society values stability far above rebellion. 8. Comfort Zone: Urban Gen Z isn’t starving. With food delivery, Netflix, Insta, and gaming, discontent softens into complaints, not street revolts. 9. No Acceptable Option: Some youth may dislike Modi, but alternatives look worse. Even Congress’s own youth IT workers quietly admit they don’t want their party back in power.
