So despite NHSE and GMC, and College, AND trainee association statements that exactly this should not happen, it happens anyway. Yet what will be the consequence? Probably saccharine nonsense. London is famously very hard to find doctors to staff rotas I've heard.

“I borrowed in total £55,000…” “How much do you owe now?" “£72,000” @vicderbyshire speaks to Dr Arthur Joustra, a trainee paediatrician, about how his student loan debt has risen since he graduated in 2022 - despite making payments. #Newsnight

🚨Babe quick, ANPs are self-aggrandising again!

As someone that has trained first as a nurse and then a doctor i have serious concerns about the way non-doctors are undertaking part time training courses and then undertake roles that are traditionally doctor lead. This is in the context of the UK being an under doctored nation compared to similar European countries. We urgently need to address the use of non-doctors in doctor roles. We also need to discuss the cost of training these staff. Who have their course fees paid and are paid while working. Why can't this funding be allocated to what the public actually want. Doctors.

I can’t do anything but surely @rcgp @RCPhysicians @fletchjack @TheBMA can at least highlight this to @wesstreeting New ad for a PA ‼️ see undifferentiated pts ‼️ newly qualified ‼️ no experience necessary ‼️F2f, telephone, home visits ‼️No direct supervision ‼️£45-52k

There is now a generation of doctors who refuse to be gaslit By anyone. The lack of spine amongst many doctors has always bothered me This generation gives me hope.

What you've done is lose patients 20.8 million appointments per year where they will now fail to have their cancers and illnesses diagnosed in a time frame that allows them to receive beneficial care. The decision to adopt this wholesale, rather than consult, to placate a radical striking BMA is going to come with a body count and that's not just of the PAs and AAs whose lives have been destroyed but the patients who are now denied access to care. This is going to be a very short lived political win and shortly you will see you've just fed the beast as the BMA now target other clinical professions.
