@Helenas_world @idlewildgirl @PaulMcG2023 My display in my car is touch screen, and gets up all my phone call info, Spotify, google maps, enough distractions right there to be dangerous . All built in too

@idlewildgirl @PaulMcG2023 It doesn't help that they keep putting massive phones stuck on the dashboard that people use and get distracted with. Get rid of these screens and back to physical buttons. Create a system that disables the mobile once in the car only allowing 999 calls

I am staying at a place in Crickhowell that has a "Smart TV" i have no idea how to work and an "Induction Hob" i also have no idea how to work It is BBC Radio and Microwave for me

@thealastairw I have an induction hob, my daughter does too hers works in a completely different way, mine has idiot proof nobs, hers is touch screen with plus and minus ..not at all straightforward.

@mancunianmedic Don't go near the hob if you have a pacemaker, but other than that it's dead simple. Put pan on, turn on. The pan is heated by magnetic induction rather than actual heat.

@WStand13 I remember..Cramond, Musselborough , etc. freshly caught, deep fried in batter from vans by the beach . Nothing finer .first time I ever heard the term ‘goujons’ thought it was a Scottish word 🤣

@ashawolves Scottish coast as a child.... Fish straight of the quay into boxes.... Sold directly to the fish and chip shops plus restaurants..

Ok pleasantly surprised with the fish and chips. I thought it being the midlands they might be a bit crap but these were very nice

17yo son bought this as a birthday gift for the girl he likes. Her favorite Austen novel is Emma, and he wanted to get her something she wasn’t likely to have. This probably did the trick, yeah?

@HELLSBELLS828 Back then everything was made from scratch by the ladies who worked in the cafeteria. The smell of the rolls baking mid morning would make our stomachs growl.

When I was in high school our cafeteria had these cinnamon rolls that I’ve been chasing since I graduated!! I don’t know if it was because I was high all the time or if they really were that good!! Did your high school cafeteria have something that good?

@HELLSBELLS828 Yep. A cheese dish, made with potatoes, onion tangy cheese but somehow soufflé. Never managed to replicate or eat it again since

Morning 👋 The start of a new era for me today. Officially medically retired from my work role (Ill Health Retirement). Very sad leaving a job I love, and great people, and customers I worked with. Now time to see what else is out by here... Not easy at age 59 with ailments.

It’s my ex MIL’s 100th birthday today. She still lives in her 3 bed home. Walks to the paper shop everyday, does the crossword. She served in the WRAF, which is where she met her husband. Here’s to Peggy. 💕💕
