Manoj Madhusudhanan took a ₹1.86 crore home loan from ICICI Bank. As collateral, he handed over his original property documents. Every homebuyer does this. You have no choice. ICICI Bank sent those documents to their storage facility in Hyderabad via courier. Somewhere on that journey — Bangalore to Hyderabad — the documents vanished. Gone. Originals. Irreplaceable. When Manoj found out, ICICI Bank had one answer: it was the courier company's fault. Not ours. He went to the Banking Ombudsman. They told ICICI to publish a public notice about the loss and pay him ₹25,000 for the trouble. Twenty-five thousand rupees. For losing the original documents to a ₹1.86 crore property. Manoj sent a legal notice. ICICI denied any mistake. He went to the NCDRC. The apex consumer court looked at the facts. The bank had taken custody of the documents. The bank had chosen the courier. The bank could not hand that liability to a third party and walk away. ICICI Bank — India's second-largest private bank, ₹9 lakh crore in assets — was held liable. Ordered to obtain reconstructed certified copies, issue an indemnity bond, and pay ₹25 lakh in compensation. One loan. One lost file. One bank that blamed the courier. Save this — if your bank loses your original property documents, they cannot blame their courier agent. The documents were in their custody. The liability is theirs. Apparently, this is one of the earliest known photographs of the sacred Kedarnath Dham, taken in 1882. Couldn’t take my eyes off it. No roads. No railheads. No helicopters. Just the abode of Lord Shiva, cradled by the Himalayas Back then, the yatra demanded time, endurance, & faith. The journey wasn’t incidental; it WAS the pilgrimage. Today, access is easier. And that’s a good thing because it opens the experience to many more. But perhaps something still needs preserving? The ability to slow down & savour the experience of traveling. Periods are natural. Stigma is not. If a girl misses school because there are no sanitary pads, no water and no privacy, it is not her personal problem. It is our collective failure. We live in a country where alcohol and cigarettes are sold openly, but sanitary pads are still wrapped in newspaper as if they must be hidden. Somewhere along the way, society turned a biological fact into a social taboo. A matter of science has been turned into a matter of silence. Menstrual hygiene is not charity. It is not a favour. It is not a side issue. It is a matter of health, education and equality. Above all, it is a matter of dignity. Raised this issue in Parliament today because it affects over 35 crore women and girls in India. A nation cannot call itself truly progressive if millions of girls still face fear, shame and silence for something so basic. The real test of progress is simple. The day every girl in India can go to school, live with dignity and speak about this without stigma, that will be the day we can truly say our society has moved forward.

Today in Parliament, I raised concerns affecting India’s prepaid recharge customers, who account for nearly 90% of the country’s 125 crore mobile users. (1) If a recharge expires, stopping outgoing calls may be understandable. But why are incoming calls stopped as well? Once validity ends, people cannot be reached, and even essential messages like bank OTPs may not come through. In emergencies or urgent situations, this can leave a person completely cut off. My demands: First is that incoming calls and SMS should continue for at least one year after the last recharge so essential communication does not stop. Second, a mobile number should not be deactivated for at least three years after the last recharge. Third, telecom operators should introduce a low cost “incoming only” plan for users who simply need their number to remain active for essential calls, OTPs and government services. (2) I also raised the issue of 28 day recharge “monthly” plans. If something is called monthly, it should follow the calendar month of 30–31 days. Because of the 28 day cycle, consumers effectively end up paying for 13 recharges in a year. (28 days × 13 recharges = 364 days) Telecom Operators should sync up their Recharge Plans with the true calendar months, and not 28 day plans. A mobile phone today is not a luxury. It is a lifeline. Prepaid recharge customers deserve fairness and transparency. Not clever fine print.

I kept trying every 30 seconds — 10:01, 10:02, 10:03… all the way till 10:10 AM - Same message, No booking. Then suddenly at 10:11 AM, the system woke up, and the availability showed WL-3. Remarkable efficiency. The booking window “had not started”, yet tickets were already gone. 😂🤣 If this is digital empowerment, it’s truly next level.
