Weekly Status Update | Water Hyacinth Removal Works Water hyacinth removal activities are continuing across identified lakes in Cyberabad as part of regular lake maintenance and environmental improvement efforts. This week, visible progress was achieved at multiple lakes including Neknampur Chinna Cheruvu, Yellamma Cheruvu, Ambeer Cheruvu, Allwyn Colony Ramchandrapuram Cheruvu, and Shambuni Kunta,Gopi Cheruvu where field teams carried out continuous removal operations. Out of 55 identified lakes, works have been completed in several lakes, while active removal and maintenance activities are currently under progress in 28 lakes across different zones. Along with hyacinth removal, desilting, sewerage diversion, and lake maintenance activities are also being monitored at selected locations to improve water movement, reduce stagnation, and support healthier lake surroundings. Since water hyacinth regrows rapidly, these works are being carried out in a phased and continuous manner through regular field monitoring and recurring maintenance activities. Food Safety Inspection Drive | Madhapur As part of continuous food safety monitoring across Cyberabad, CMC Food Safety teams conducted an inspection at Chowman, Madhapur on 25.05.2026. During the inspection, hygiene practices such as the use of aprons and hairnets by staff were observed. At the same time, certain food safety and storage issues were identified, including unhygienic meat storage conditions, mixing of veg and non-veg items in the same freezer, expired sauces, and pest infestation. Necessary action was immediately initiated, including disposal of unhygienically stored meat and temporary closure of the premises for complete cleaning and sanitation. CMC will continue regular food safety inspections across restaurants, kitchens, eateries, and food establishments to ensure better hygiene standards and public health safety across the city.
