Working on our animal research project with Grade 2s today! We came up with our research questions, learned how to navigate our Research Tools page to Pebblego, and researched about what their animal looks like and the unique characteristics of their animal's body. 🐻🐍 🐦 🐟 🐸

Grade 4s & 5s enjoyed an afternoon of MYRCA Madness! Garage band & lemonade, design challenges, hockey, map making & mystery bookmarks were some activities that reflected our reading this year. Thank you @MyrcAward for bringing joy to kids through great literature!@beg_RETSD

We celebrated the end of our MYRCA club with a day filled with MYRCA Madness. Our Grade 4s and 5s circulated through stations with themes and activities inspired from the MYRCA books. In the library, we had lemonade and jammed on Garage Band with the king! 🎸

Continuing our learning with Scratch Jr. in our Grade 1 classes. This week we learned how to add a background, delete characters, add characters and create codes for our characters to interact. Everyone got a chance to share their awesome programs at the end!

Working on the Level Up Winnipeg Challenge through Minecraft Education with our 3/4s. Students have been exploring our city through Minecraft Education and coming up with solutions to improve our downtown!

Our 1/2 class celebrated the end of our project by having some open exploration time with our loose parts and watching our finished stop motion videos. What a great way to end to our fairytale/loose parts/stop motion project!

Today we started learning about coding on Scratch Jr. today in Grade 1! We picked backgrounds, characters and created codes for their scenes.

We had some royalty pop by for kindergarten book exchange today. Our kinders enjoyed a read aloud and got some new books just in time to enjoy over the weekend! Happy reading! 📚

Finishing up filming our stop motion and started adding in our audio yesterday. Our fairy tale scenes are looking amazing!

Today the 1/2s worked cooperatively on their setting backdrops AND created their main characters out of clay. We can’t wait to begin filming the stop-motion fairytales! @beg_RETSD

The 1/2s have been working so hard learning about fairytales, elements of a story, and loose parts. They are planning out how to retell their favourite fairytale with loose parts. Next step is to turn them into stop-motion movies with Mrs. Buchanan! @beg_RETSD

Our Grade 1s in Mrs. Kowalchuk, Mrs. Titchosky and Mrs. Luik's classes have been learning how to navigate to websites through our "Research Tools" page and search for answers to our research questions.
