This is ridiculous. In 2019, Class 12 students in Telangana faced similar goof-ups to those CBSE students are facing right now. It resulted in the suicide of more than 20 students. Do you know what is similar in both of these cases? The same company is behind this failure.

But the devil is in the fiscal trade off...the argument for rewarding patient capital is correct as india does need more long term equity investment and less gold hoarding but abolishing LTCG outright is a blunt instrument. A more workable path is much lower LTCG rates, higher exemption thresholds and indexation for inflation. That still distinguishes investment from speculation and rewards long term ownership, without imposing a large unfunded fiscal cost or severe asset class distortion though the goal is right the design can be more nuanced.

A long-term shareholder is not a speculator but a provider of patient risk capital. By investing in and holding businesses, investors help companies expand, create jobs, innovate and contribute to India's economic growth. India requires enormous amounts of long-term capital to build world class enterprises, infrastructure and global champions. Tax policy should encourage households to move savings from passive assets, including imported stores of value such as gold, into productive businesses that create jobs, generate tax revenues and build national wealth. The appreciation in a company's value is not created in isolation. During its growth journey, the government already collects corporate tax, GST, income tax from employees, customs duties, stamp duties and numerous other levies. Long-term capital gains are often the final outcome of economic activity that has already generated substantial tax revenues. Most importantly, tax policy should clearly distinguish between investment and speculation. A long term shareholder is a partner in wealth creation, not merely a participant in market transactions. Tax policy should reward long-term ownership of productive businesses and distinguish it from short-term speculation. India needs more patient capital, more entrepreneurship and more long term investing. Abolishing long-term capital gains tax on listed equities would be a powerful step in that direction. What will happen if Muslims start objecting to and protesting Hindu festivals within housing societies? If causing offense is the new criteria, then Holi, Ganpati, and Diwali etc should be barred from society premises too. They claim Eid Al-Adha Bakrid sacrifices pose sanitation issues, a matter the BMC should simply regulate. But the Diwali severely impacts the environment and causes respiratory illnesses, while Ganpati noise pollution has even led to death in Pune.Why is there no equal and just Non-discriminatory law for everyone? Why is chaos manufactured only ahead of Muslim festivals? Why ignore historical truths and ground realities just to blindly follow BJP'S Hindutva politics?
