@HuimahnChoi @stephanamayer Totally agree. Long rounds jams up the team. I have 2 rounding rules. (1) Let the nurse know we’re ready to round on their patient. (2) Finish by noon or earlier. There’s still plenty of time for teaching. And more time to do informal rounding throughout the day.

Rounding comprises of a team going bed to bed discussing the plan. Usually it’s done once a day for teaching and communication. Medicine has evolved. No longer does it make sense to round for hours once a day. We need to Rethink Rounds to improve ICU care.

Today the endothelin receptor antagonist clazosentan (Pilvaz) was approved in Japan based on 2 positive RCTs which showed reduced death or DCI from vasospasm. The first new approved medical therapy for #SAH in over 25 years! Well done @Idorsia!
