@avilewis @princessrott The CDB isn't meant to live on. It's mean to supplement a disabled persons income. Yes it should be increased, but no, it shouldn't give people a second income.

I don’t think one can live a dignified life in Canada on $500/month. Our call is in line with disability justice activists, who are demanding $2150/month, closer to the pandemic-era CERB. But yes, @princessrott, disconnecting the CDB from the tax credit is essential.
Bran 🌈 🟦∞🟥@princessrott

@avilewis If elected in 2029, would you commit to raising the CDB to 500 dollars a month with commitment to increase the amount to help #PWD across canada reach poverty level income support?, and remove the exclusionary Disability tax credit as a gateway to the benefit.

You cannot shriek about Trump being awful for making jokes about dead people, then turn around and use the excuse of "well Trump did it too, so it's justified". You are either above Trump's childish rhetoric, or your right down there with him. Jimmel Kimmel just proved he's lapping at Trump's anus, waiting for his next joke idea to ooze on out of there. ALL of these people are disgusting.

Yes I will make fun of the guys fucked up face because he's not even a human being worth any compassion. I'll give him kudos for being brave for sticking that ugly mug in front of a camera any opportunity he can though.

A bitter damp day in massive Gore Park Community Outreach food line. I’ve met new guests already today who are homeless including seniors who are so frail it’s heartbreaking, people in wheelchairs who are shivering, and young people who are low on hope. We must do better #Onpoli

Indigenous elders want to rape and torture residential mass grave critics instead of providing proof of their existence. This is what Canadian democracy looks like in 2026.
Frances Widdowson@FrancesWiddows1

Chief Charlene Belleau speaks about her interaction with me (and to some extent @Dallas_Brodie) @thompsonriversu: "I wish that our people could grab you [Frances Widdowson], drag you over to the Kamloops Residential School, put you into the basement, speak our language to you, nothing but @tkemlups, beat you, rape you, hurt you, and maybe you would understand what our people went through". This occurred at a @UBC Faculty of Medicine event moderated by Derek Thompson, the Director of Indigenous Engagement.

@LauraBabcock is responsible for this man's situation, and she thinks handing him her half-eaten leftovers and 30 cents in pocket change absolves her of responsibility. She even brags about it online like she's this person's knight in shining armour for giving him her food scraps. Disgusting excuse for a human, inside and out.

On Easter Sunday leaving a restaurant we saw a homeless man in the pouring rain searching the garbage can across the street. I brought him our takeaway containers and some money. He immediately ate the food in the rain. He was starving. This is Ontario. It makes me so angry. 🤬

48 hours in a homeless persons life. No door that locks, no food security, no safety, and sleeping outside in the elements... You wouldn’t call them “lazy” again, you’d be begging for the same help you vote against!

Can anybody with the @NDP tell me what "the rich" taste like? Suggesting cannibalism of the wealthy as a solution to Canada's problems is radical/extremist talk.

Then she stopped to talk to this clown. I'm convinced he's the one coordinating all these attacks. He said he called the RCMP and then they both drove away. "Are you armed?" What a weird question We never called the RCMP.

I'll just post the whole video. This lady came to harass us. The video starts when Karen was asking her to be respectful. I started filming, because the sight of a camera usually gets them to back off. She ripped my shirt while trying to grab my phone. I'm used to filming. I'm loud because it was super windy, and I wanted to make sure my voice was recorded. I was also pissed that she ripped my shirt. 1/

@grok so public sector employees do not generate economic output that funds their own salaries and wages? Wouldn't it be more true that public sector workers create the conditions for the private sector to do their own thing? Like a publically funded doctor that heals a private truck driver, or a government crew that builds the road that trucker will use to do his own private business things? You make it sound like public sector workers are nothing but a parasitic drain on the private sector "tax contributing" sector.

No. Public sector workers in Canada pay income taxes at the exact same federal and provincial rates as private sector employees, based on their taxable income. My note on "tax-contributing" workers simply distinguished the private sector's role in generating the economic output and revenue that primarily funds public salaries and services. The 2.6:1 ratio underscores the support burden in Saskatchewan's case.

In Saskatchewan, more than 28 per cent of people work for some level of government. In Manitoba, it's 26 per cent. In British Columbia, it's 21 per cent. And in Alberta, it's 18 per cent. That's unaffordable. You can't grow an economy off the backs of legions of bureaucrats.
Gage Haubrich@haubrich_g

More people in Saskatchewan work for the government than anywhere else in Western Canada. That's not sustainable. Other provinces are getting along just fine with less bureaucrats. Premier Scott Moe, Prime Minister Mark Carney and mayors across Saskatchewan need stop spending so much on bloated bureaucracies. taxpayer.com/newsroom/all-l…

In Saskatchewan, ~28% of employed workers are in the public sector (per StatsCan, as cited by CTF). The other 72% are mainly private-sector (tax-contributing) workers. So public workers = ~39% the size of the tax-contributing workforce (28 ÷ 72). That means ~2.6 private workers support each government worker. Similar calc for others: MB ~35%, BC ~27%, AB ~22%.
