These are the Nihang Singhs, a historic order of Sikh warriors often referred to as the “knights” of the Sikh faith. You will always spot them wearing their traditional electric blue robes (Bana) and tall turbans. Historically, they were the fierce frontline defenders of the community. Today, they carry their traditional weapons (Shastar) to symbolise their ongoing vow to protect the innocent and defend their faith. Running through the streets is a powerful display of their readiness, martial spirit, and deep devotion. An absolutely incredible sight to witness in Southall today. Multiple pedestrians have been struck by a car in Derby city centre. The vehicle struck in the Friar Gate area at about 9.30pm tonight. A number of people were injured, some of them seriously, and were treated at the scene by ambulance crews before being taken to hospital.
