what even is the black knife? Deltarune frames it as something really important but I struggle to think of what it could be in the light world. Dess just having a random knife doesn't feel super satisfying to me and I really doubt it's literally a bat in the light world

@wandydoodles @batatistv You say that Dess got lost in the dark, this contradicts the idea of darkness as truth: you get lost because you deviated from the intended path (prophecy = tale), you get lost in the uncertainty of darkness because of the absence of light to guide you ("your heart as my mark").

Something I realized over these months is that many if not the majority of dess knighters do not even understand dess knight, they have no idea why it's good, they just don't want the knight to be carol because the game begs you on its knees to believe it's her
