Judicial education & training is a specialised field and we just haven’t paid it enough attention in India. What we severely lack in those fields, cannot be offset by setting a 3-yr practice rule to become judges. Wrong solution to a very serious problem.

Ultimately the judicial legacy of a judge must be assessed by what is done in court. The legacy of Justice Sanjiv Khanna is not simple or one-sided - but credit must be given that there was no attempt to create a legacy through continuous commentary outside the courtroom.

NLU Delhi was my first job and after nearly 13 yrs, I am moving on. I will be joining @NALSAR_Official. All staff at Project 39A have also moved and we will be setting up the @sqcircleclinic at NALSAR to continue our crim justice work out of Delhi, Hyd, Pune, and Nagpur.

The extent of police action around comments by @BeerBicepsGuy must worry us. When offending sentiments becomes the basis for criminal action - unjustified intrusion by the state is at our doorstep. No exaggeration to say “it could be you”. Certainly not a @BeerBicepsGuy fan.
