We are very proud to have invested in @replit 9 years ago. We invested out of our first $53M fund and re-invested 3x. We were taken with @amasad vision to democratize coding and building. We could see that access to this skill would open up so many job opportunities traditionally unavailable to most . And that’s exactly what @Replit has done. One of the great byproducts of this investment is that returns will benefit the many mission-driven and nonprofit organizations behind Reach I like @sesamestreet and @NextGenPF . They will flow back into the system to support the efforts of dozens of nonprofits, foundations and educational organizations.

Life update: I’ll be a visiting partner at Y Combinator for the next batch. Over 21,000 companies have already applied, it’s mind-blowing to see how fast companies can be built today 🤯

@garrytan Yes…Scott has been a courageous leader on housing and many other issues, and he works harder than anyone. He listens. He's good.

I’m supporting Scott Wiener for Congress because he’s delivered on the hard stuff: YIMBY, standing up to dysfunction, and fighting for an SF that works. We don’t agree on everything but I back leaders who show up, take tough votes, and move the ball forward for this city.
Garry Tan@garrytan

The SF Latinx Democratic Club reinstated its leader after sexual assault allegations—then fled the SF Dem party when Nancy Tung called for accountability. Now when State Senator Scott Wiener refused to appear, they're making a stink garryslist.org/posts/sf-progr…

i recently got a light phone 3. it's been life-changing. i can still feel my brain reconfiguring, rewiring after 15 years on an iPhone (starting age 14). before, I tried everything. Putting my phone on greyscale, installing apps like one sec or opal, deleting the social media apps (only to use twitter and ig in the browser), using a vintage blackberry, having a friend set my screentime password and hard limits, putting my phone into accessibility mode, removing all apps from my home screen, using a timed lock box, using a boox palma (phone shaped e-ink device with a crappy version of android), using an older iphone, and most recently, locking my phone away in the basement. All of them were bandaids. After some time away from it, I can see how the habit field surrounding the iPhone runs incredibly deep and is just fundamentally not aligned with the life I want to live. I'll post a full review soon. (it takes beautiful pictures, too)

@gdb Everything you just wrote is exactly how I remember it. You worked hard to find a setup that could work for him and you. I’m sorry it’s playing out like this.

Out of respect for Elon and to avoid discrediting him, the whole time we were working together, and even after he quit, we tried to avoid correcting his false narratives in public. Looking forward to finally having an opportunity to talk about the real history of OpenAI.

@klinse @nabeelqu Aw, thank you! I’ve only had a small part in it, many talented people for many years made it special!

@nabeelqu @asuth this one’s for you. The joy I get from doing Beast Academy with my kids is unmatched. Years from now, when my kids are grown, I will have the fondest memories of sitting together at the kitchen table doing math. Thank you.

@sdamico I love what you’re doing but I simply cannot permit an iPad in my kitchen. Would you consider a less screenful interface?

This is now shipping @ImpulseLabs_ 4x the power output of a gas stove, ~5x the power output of an induction stove when it’s not in some time-restricted “boost” mode. Unlike every other stove, the knob gives you actual continuous control from 50->10,000 watts (vs. 10-20 steps)

New from me: Books are going missing from school curriculum, and the issue is worse than you imagine. The culprits might surprise you, too. Link follows.

Testing out Gemini 2.5 flash image aka nano-banana 🍌 for making scientific diagrams / visuals. Been testing this with every new model for months. This is the first model I've seen that can passably do this in just seconds. It's not perfect yet, but such an unlock to have this level of high fidelity text rendering + language understanding + world knowledge in one model.

Andrew I am a really big fan of Beast Academy and AOPS. 40+% of our userbase uses Beast Academy, and tbh, it's all the smartest kids Many are graduating to MathAcademy instead of AOPS I am and have been a huge fan of your work since high school haha! Would love to meet sometime if you're down. We're also working on a new product that I think could be interesting to you, it's a companion to curriculums.

Scenes from the California YIMBY war room, in the heat of policy committee season. It was all-hands-on-deck with authors and co-sponsors, but we advanced—and will keep advancing—our largest and most ambitious package of bills ever.

Curious about people’s career inflection points. Were the best ones…deliberate or unexpected? Led by curiosity or cultivated conviction? A tangent or digging deeper on something? Would love to hear ❤️🙏
