@zatzi I'm bloody livid! I work like crazy for not a lot of money. All I have to show for it is a modest C&S ISA, which does fine for me...& now I can't even have the cash element of that left alone. My words & thoughts are not repeatable on social media

Britain is not “tightening its belt.” Britain has sold the belt, borrowed another one on Klarna, and is now being lectured about financial responsibility by people billing duck houses to the taxpayer. The weekly shop now requires a small bank loan. You walk into Tesco for bread and milk and leave having accidentally financed a Mediterranean yacht. Heating goes on like a military operation.
“One hour only, Margaret. We’re not made of money.” Petrol prices rise every time somebody sneezes near a shipping lane most of us couldn’t point to on a globe if David Attenborough himself was helping. The NHS waiting list is so long your appendix now has a better chance of seeing a doctor than you do. Young people cannot afford houses.
Parents cannot afford food.
Pensioners cannot afford to die because funerals are apparently platinum-tier experiences now. Meanwhile the Government — regardless of colour rosette — stares proudly into the middle distance and announces another “bold package of measures” that somehow never includes fixing anything you actually use. You notice:
£8 million a day on asylum hotels.
£15 billion on foreign aid.
£24 billion borrowed in a single month. And if you politely ask whether this is sustainable, the national conversation immediately transforms into:
“Ah. So you’re literally Hitler then.” Ask once: bigot.
Ask twice: racist.
Ask three times: far-right extremist and possible threat to democracy itself. At this point you half expect Ofcom to cut into Coronation Street with:
“We apologise for Russ from Doncaster asking where his taxes went.” The reality is millions of ordinary British people are not angry because they are hateful. They are angry because for thirty years they have been told:
Wait your turn.
Pay more.
Expect less.
Shut up.
And if possible, feel guilty while doing it. Under Labour.
Under Conservatives.
Under coalitions.
Under whichever assortment of beige management consultants happened to win the election that year. The British public are essentially the bloke at the pub who keeps buying rounds while being told he’s selfish for wondering why his own pint never arrives. This is not racism. It is national exhaustion. And frankly, after this long, you would struggle to find a country on Earth that would not feel exactly the same.

I agree with you - celebrate whatever want for as long as you want (wearing whatever you want)...so long as YOU foot the bill & don't get in my way while I'm shopping/rehydrating in Spoons/driving to work. You do you - I'll do me - we BOTH don't bother each other or coat each other money, & we'll both be happy as pigs in the proverbial 😁🍻 Cheers - now go enjoy your march before the climate kills us all.

So, we have our first series of nice days since last year (also known as the start of summer) & the media lose their minds! Painting maps black (imminent death, I suppose), warning of centuries old records being broken (the end of times?), & how to stay alive long enough to see the next dreary rains...can't you just write "enjoy it while it lasts" & leave us alone? We just don't care anymore.

Here's a quick human sexes guide for any aliens visiting our friendly planet: Just because I decide to wear a white glove on one of my hands, it won't magically give me moonwalking powers & a great singing voice...I am still a dancing dunce, because that's how I was born! Hope this helps.

We have & we are! Dudes with dxcks = male toilet (because they are male). Women (because they can make babies & are women.... I mean really, I shouldn't have to explain this, children) = women's toilet. Rapists, perverts, & women-haters = prison toilets. The equation is not hard.

In practise this just means that trans people cannot use public toilets. Those championing this policy should just come out and be honest about that!

The risk of a trans woman being abused or assaulted in the men’s toilet per visit = extremely high. The risk of a woman being abused or assaulted in the women’s toilet per visit = extremely low.
J.K. Rowling@jk_rowling

Follow the logic. Women are deluded and naive for thinking predatory and violent men can be kept out of women-only spaces. ‘They can rape you anywhere.’ However, trans-identified men can only be safe in women-only spaces, because no abuser would ever follow them in there.

The truth is blacks are basically thuggish school yard bullies. In most cases they’ll only physically attack a White man when they see weakness or a vulnerability they can exploit (ie coming up from behind to sucker punch or attacking in packs) . The second you defend yourself and send them packing they’ll go running to the police to snitch like bitches. That’s when the regime will come in and do the real dirty work that incompetent black thugs cannot. This is what’s happening with the case of Chud the builder.

I know this is naive of me, but can't the next government simply abolish this quango, create laws that force judges to abide by umm...the law! Thereby ensuring that murderers get the same, just, sentences, each & every time (obviously along some fixes guidelines). I know, crazy concept, right?

“The Sentencing council is not fit for purpose” …. it is also not an elected body. It’s a QUANGO established under Gordon Brown in 2009. It is increasingly framed around “equality”, “disparity reduction” and wider objectives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals such as SDG 10 and SDG 16 all contained in Agenda 2030 sentencing should be based on the law, not international policy frameworks or social engineering developed by unelected bodies. Just saying.

Right … *sigh* this is what will actually happen in real life if overtime is tax free at Heinz! They will restructure around it by stopping hiring, entry level jobs will be hit hardest, they will rebuild rotas so that “overtime” becomes part of the salary. That “gain” per worker becomes a system where fewer people do more hours. It’s not a pay rise. It’s a labour redesign, just as unemployment is rising. Honestly Reform you can do better than this! Just cut taxes 🙄
Robert Jenrick@RobertJenrick

If you work at the Heinz factory near Wigan, do an hour and a half overtime every day, you’ll be *£1,000* a year better off. Reform will make work pay again.

A farmer dies in April 2026. His son inherits the farm. The farm has been in the family since 1847. The farm consists of: 300 acres of grazing pasture, a farmhouse built in 1892, a barn, a milking parlour, two tractors of varying ages, a Land Rover that runs about 70% of the time, and a herd of 180 Hereford-cross cattle. On paper, the farm is worth approximately £3.2 million. This is because land near him has been bought recently by a London hedge fund looking for carbon credits, which has dragged the comparable value of every field within forty miles upward to a number nobody local can justify. In cash, the farm produces a profit of about £28,000 a year in a good year. In a bad year it loses money. The son also works as a fencing contractor three days a week to keep the operation viable. The inheritance tax bill on a £3.2 million estate, even at the reduced 20% rate, comes to approximately £140,000 after the increased threshold is applied. The son does not have £140,000. The son has never had £140,000. The son has £4,200 in his current account and an overdraft. The son sells 60 acres to a developer to pay the tax. The developer puts solar panels on the 60 acres. The remaining herd cannot be sustained on the reduced land. The herd is sold. The barn becomes a holiday let. A different family eats Brazilian beef this Christmas without knowing why the price went up. The Treasury collects £140,000. The land never produces British food again.

The only thing I want to hear from either of the 2 right parties is the absolute promise that one day 1 of their new government they are going to withdraw from the European Court of Human Rights & the Human Rights Act. If they don't do that they cannot govern this country. It's that simple.
