I am creating a site originofcovid.org that summarizes the key data. Help in building this site would be appreciated (it is Wordpress). Please retweet this, it is important to have an accessible summary available, and that has been sorely missing.

@R_H_Ebright @aziz0nomics The Guardian is still rabidly anti-Trump, meaning implicitly pro IRGC. But if democracy blooms (likely no certain) we will see them blame Trump for not acting sooner.

Breaking: Wild scenes at Lakemba Mosque. @AlboMP and @Tony_Burke threatened by worshippers. Their bodyguards - only wearing socks - visibly nervous. The speaker attacks the government, @PaulineHansonOz and refers to Gaza with no mention of October 7.

🚨 Iran’s presidency has collapsed as its own president pleads not to be assassinated. Masoud Pezeshkian is telling foreign counterparts he has no authority, no access to leadership, and no control over the system, effectively disavowing responsibility as the regime fractures from within. According to Persian Gulf sources, he informed officials across the region, as well as Russia and Turkey, that the constitutional leadership structure has broken down and he is completely cut off from it, stressing there is no justification for targeting him. Pezeshkian is trying to save his own life as the regime crumbles, a clear sign the Islamic Republic is losing control.

@Bryce_Nickels Has there been any movement on the Risky Research act since Trump? It had passed committee long ago. What is its current status? Where is Rand Paul?

Which is why it's also important that the Trump administration fulfill its promise to the American people by producing a strong and effective policy on dangerous gain-of-function research and that Congress pass Rand Paul’s Risky Research Review Act (RRRA). However, as of March 19, 2026, by all indications it appears that both Trump’s executive order on dGOF and Senator Paul’s RRRA have died on the vine... indicating that the opinions of the "bioweaponers cosplaying as scientists" community (Ralph Baric, Yoshihiro Kawaoka, Jeff Taubenberger, et al.) have prevailed over the opinions of others. It follows that we are likely barreling toward a future in which another major lab-generated pandemic occurs and the very bureaucrats who came to power promising to prevent it will be the ones scrambling to cover it up.
Matt Ridley@mattwridley

Correct. Which it’s why it’s so crazy to damage its reputation by defending idiotic and dangerous gain of function research that had huge risks and minor benefits.

And once the furin site gets there, a time bomb starts ticking, requiring a D614G SNP within about 24 days. If it came from nature, it had only three weeks before it jumped to humans. The first human cases were D614. Within 24 days, the tMRCA became the G614. 99.1% of all GISAID sequences are G614. If it came from nature the first cases would have been G614.

SARS2 needed the insertion of a furin cleavage site to spread to humans, which the authors of the paper studiously ignore No member of the sarbecovirus has such a site, indicating its origin may not be natural

@dentistdeb @MaryBowdenMD @NIHDirector_Jay @BlackTomThePyr8 We know what WIV was doing. It is in their research papers. Looking for viruses of pandemic potential. Trying to produce pan-coronavirus vaccines. There was certainly an unstated purpose in developing bioweapons technology. But not this actual virus.

@MaryBowdenMD @NIHDirector_Jay @BlackTomThePyr8 Covid was not actually a bioweapon, but just reckless research. But China and USA are very interested in the underlying research because it is dual use for bioweapons. Do not muddy the waters.

1/🧵A while back I had been contacted by Andy Levin about the Dec 8/16 41M Chen onset date dispute as the first official case of the pandemic. I was surprised by the outcome of that chat.

@Engineer2The Worobey made so many mistakes it is hard to count them. Just the entire geographic method is dubious to start with. What is clear is that Worobey's "despositive" conclusion was written first, and then tried to force the evidence to fit.

2/ Worobey dissected the early cases in his paper, but made 2 mistakes. I took the approach of arguing against Andy, but he proved a point I hadn't seen and won. There are TWO 41M Chen from Wuchang and there is no longer an onset date dispute considering there are two cases.

@TelGlobalHealth @honigsbaum Nonsense. Viruses never cross species instantly with no adaption period and then suddenly cause a pandemic that start 1000 miles from their source. Inside, the Furin Cleavage Site is obviously not natural. And WIV was making these types of viruses.

Alas, it looks like "bioweaponeers cosplaying as scientists" (Baric, Kawaoka,Taubenberger, etc) & their backers in the USG might have the last laugh: "...it appears that both Trump’s executive order on dGOF and Senator Paul’s RRRA have died on the vine..."

A ‘nail in the coffin’ for the lab-leak theory? A new study suggests Covid-19 didn’t need special adaptation to spread to humans but was simply waiting for the right opportunity Analysis by medical historian Mark Honigsbaum (@honigsbaum)👇 telegraph.co.uk/global-health/…

The besieged Basij | Israeli intelligence uncovered Iran’s fallback plan: if bases were destroyed, security forces would muster at local sports complexes. Israel watched those venues fill up, and then struck. Some of the deadliest hits of the war followed, killing hundreds of security personnel. At one venue footage shows bodies of officers sprawled outside.

@VillanuevaPM @NVICLoeDown Culpability is on Virologists. Internationally. And it is Virologists that drive USA and other policy on this. That said China's obsfucation in the early months was also inexcusable. Leave your hatred of Trump out of it.

@atuntable @NVICLoeDown So we go for it because it’s the simplest explanation? 😬 Really? Wow. I mean there are quite a few problems with that theory: if culpability would be on China I think you agree the US would not hesitate aggressively going after them, right?

@VillanuevaPM @NVICLoeDown We want to keep focus on the fact that there was a lab leak. And Defuse plus NIH grant plus WIV's previous GoF work on coronaviruses make WIV the simplest explanation. If ever we got past that, then indeed we should look harder at Dani and Linfa, dubious characters at best.

@atuntable @NVICLoeDown Andrew you really can’t know that. Zero of what you are saying supports that. Now it’s possible that Dani’s presence in Wuhan and Linfa resigning are just “weird”, but can we agree that lableak-land intentionally avoids looking into this for some reason?
