23 major news outlets, including The New York Times and USA Today, are now blocking the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine from saving copies of their articles. They are doing this because they do not want AI companies to use the archived pages to train large language models. This surely protects their content from scraping, it also limits public access to historical news records. It makes it harder to track how stories change over time and preserving journalism

Unlike most Catholics on X, I am not a formally trained theologian, but I think this might be a bigger moral issue than the US enforcing immigration law.

You’re gonna throw your phone after you see this story. For 125 years, a group of Catholic nuns in New York have run a FREE hospice called Rosary Hill Home. They take care of poor people dying from cancer no charge, ever. Just pure Christian charity. Then Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a law a few years ago that forces EVERY nursing home to use preferred pronouns, house patients by gender identity (not biological sex), and let people into opposite-sex bathrooms and spaces. The nuns said: “We treat everyone with dignity… but we can’t do that. It goes against our Catholic faith.” So New York is now threatening them with $5,000–$10,000 fines per violation, loss of their license, and jail time. These sisters who’ve spent their whole lives caring for the dying are being told: obey the gender rules or shut down. Unbelievable.

Eric Swalwell has officially suspended his campaign, but if over 50 former staffers call the allegations “credible” it only underscores how this guy has been a scumbag for years and everyone knew it. They only came out publicly when getting rid of him helped the party by removing him from the gubernatorial race in California. The fact that he is a straight white male just made the machine party political calculus easier. The Democrat Party is cunning and remarkably ruthless. Impressive on some level, but these people know only one master, and that’s power.

🚨 JUST IN: OVER 50 former staffers of Eric Swalwell have just released a statement calling for him to RESIGN They also referred to the r*pe allegations against him as CREDIBLE. Democrats have known this for YEARS, yet they never spoke up until now. Disgusting people.

I honestly thought this map was made up Hundreds of supertankers, the kind that carry two million barrels each, are currently racing toward the US Gulf Coast from every direction. Atlantic, Indian Ocean, around Africa, the scenic route, the "we were heading to Saudi Arabia but NVM" route. Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and everyone panicked. Oil hit $126 a barrel. Gas hit $4 a gallon. Cable news did the thing where they put a red banner on screen and say "CRISIS" in a font that suggests you should be hoarding toilet paper. And then something happened that nobody in media seems interested in reporting, for obvious reasons. The world just... switched suppliers? Like changing your internet provider except the internet provider is the entire effing global energy economy. American oil exports are approaching record levels. Gulf Coast refineries are running at 95% capacity. Supertankers that were mid-ocean on their way to the Persian Gulf literally turned around and headed to Texas. That's not a metaphor. Ship tracking data shows them doing U-turns in the Indian Ocean. Meanwhile China, which was getting 45% of its oil imports through Hormuz and paying basement prices for sanctioned Iranian crude, is now competing with Japan and Europe for the same expensive American barrels. Chinese manufacturers are already raising prices 20% on goods headed to the US. So to summarize: Iran played its biggest card and the main result is that the United States became the world's emergency gas station and China's cheap energy subsidy evaporated. This is either the most elaborate coincidence in the history of geopolitics... or someone planned the sequence Venezuela -> Iran -> profits! I'll let you figure out which one

I am suspending my campaign for Governor. To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made — but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.

I built CourtWatch.us — a free public database for American citizens who deserve safer communities. You can track which judges released defendants who then got rearrested, skipped court, or violated their release conditions. All public records. All free. I started with Orange County FL and will be expanding to all 67 Florida counties and eventually every state in the country. This first batch of info is from 2024 and since public reports are released in March/April for the previous year, data is behind. But I wanted to see if this is plausible. After adding 2024,I'll add 2025 and then figure out how to get real-time-data uploaded. It's in beta — would love to know what you think 👇 Numbers don't lie, but criminals do. courtwatch.us @bennyjohnson @jockowillink @GrantCardone @LauraLoomer @nickshirleyy @j_fishback

357 members of Congress voted to kill a resolution to keep congressional sexual harassment records buried. They also spent 18 million dollars (tax dollars) in hush money to silence their victims. Eric Swalwell is just one of many!

Victor Davis Hanson: Obama Bombed Libya for Seven Months, Nobody Talked About Impeaching Him During the Libya bombing campaign, President Obama authorized strikes on a range of dual‑use sites, including TV stations, communications facilities, government buildings, civilian vessels and ports. He also joked about drone strikes at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and there were no accusations of war crimes then. “We bombed them for seven months, and, by the way, after 60 to 90 days, the War Powers Authorization Act ends. In other words, you can negotiate from 60 to 90 days about whether you need Congress’s approval to make war. After that, it’s illegal.” youtu.be/zEQ6HH8sPn8 @VDHanson

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was hanged by the Nazis on April 9, 1945 at the Flossenbürg concentration camp. A camp doctor who was there gave this eyewitness account: “On the morning of that day between five and six o’clock the prisoners, including Admiral Canaris, General Oster and state attorney Dr. Sack were taken from their cells and the verdicts of the court martial read out to them. Through the half-open door in one room of the huts, I saw Pastor Bonhoeffer, before taking off his prison garb, kneeling on the floor praying fervently to his God. I was most deeply moved by the way this lovable man prayed, so devout and so certain that God heard his prayer. At the place of execution, he again said a short prayer, and then climbed the steps to the gallows, brave and composed. His death ensued after a few seconds. In the almost fifty years that I worked as a doctor, I have hardly ever seen a man die so entirely submissive to the will of God.” Bonhoeffer's last recorded words: "This is the end—for me the beginning of life."

80 lawsuits to force doctors to prescribe ivermectin for COVID. 40 won & got ivermectin, 40 didn’t. 38 out of 40 who got ivermectin lived. 38 out of 40 who didn’t get ivermectin died. The chances that Ivermectin had no impact are something like the chances of you guessing a random 15 digit number on the first try.

Project Hail Mary writer Andy Weir on social commentary in books: "I dislike social commentary. Like… I really hate it. When I’m reading a book, I just want to be entertained, not preached at by the author. Plus, it ruins the wonder of the story if I know the author has a political or social axe to grind. I no longer speculate about all possible outcomes of the story because I know for a fact that the universe of that book will conspire to ensure that the author’s political agenda is validated. I hate that." "I put no politics or social commentary into my stories at all. Anyone who thinks they see something like that is reading it in on their own. I have no point to make, and I’m not trying to affect the reader’s opinion on anything. My sole job is to entertain, and I stick to that." "To that end, I also don’t talk about my personal political opinions publicly. I don’t want readers to even know, honestly. I don’t want that in the back of their minds as they read my stuff." Is this why he has the #1 sci-fi movie in decades?
