Wow, this is such an incredible surprise! This Emmy nomination really belongs to the phenomenal team at CNN. Especially the small, but mighty team behind the camera in China, whose faces and names the world does not see. The environment for journalists in China is at its worst point in decades. The country is increasingly cracking down on independent reporting and punishing Chinese nationals who speak out. Finding the truth is harder than ever. Reporting on the ground means dealing with surveillance, intimidation from local authorities, and lots of online harassment on Chinese social media.
