Why did we make this decision? Complex mix of reasons that have been building for a while. GDPR was a factor, but not the only one.

Main reason: @aurorawatchuk receives NO funding. No hardware, no software, no infrastructure, no staff time. EVERYTHING is done on a best-efforts basis. We need to keep it manageable. Securely storing and managing 100,000 email addresses isn't a cost-free activity.
