Ship to ship, shoulder to shoulder. 🌊⚓️ Naval officers from 🇦🇺🇵🇭🇨🇦🇯🇵🇺🇸 met at Subic for the BALIKATAN 2026 final planning conference. 13 ships will participate in joint drills over the next week to strengthen interoperability for a peaceful, stable and prosperous region.

Law enforcement cooperation is a pillar of our bilateral relationship. I had a productive meeting with NBI Director Matibag to discuss how the 🇵🇭 & 🇦🇺 can work closer together to tackle crime, including by supporting the formation of a Philippine National Forensic Institute.

Australia and the Philippines are strengthening maritime cooperation.   The HMAS Toowoomba operated with the BRP Rajah Sulayman and the BRP Melchora Aquino in a multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity to enhance interoperability and to respond to security challenges.

Australia is proud to work with the Philippine Government to strengthen preparedness to climate and disaster risks.   Through our SHIELD Program, we partner with national and local governments, the private sector and community groups to protect lives and livelihoods.

🇦🇺 and 🇵🇭 continue to work together so women and girls can access health services during disasters. Today with @DOHgovph and @UNFPAph, we launched a training module that ensures the delivery of care that meets the needs of Filipino women during emergencies.

Australia and the Philippines are connected in Catanduanes — from Puraran’s surfing legacy, sparked by 🇦🇺 Surfer Peter Sutton in the 1980s, to our shared stewardship of the East Asian–Australasian Flyway — all highlighted during the Embassy visit to Catanduanes State University.

🇦🇺 is working with the 🇵🇭 to support inclusive economic growth, from major cities to local communities. The Embassy recently visited Catanduanes to explore opportunities in the energy, education & tourism sectors, & discuss how we can enhance the livelihoods of Catandunganons.
