Natural causes, they always say. But how was her communication upheld, so she could communicate pain? Did she have consistent staff, who could see changes in her? When was the last time she went to the doctor? We expect more, @CoronersVic. coronerscourt.vic.gov.au/sites/default/…

@AutisticDoctor Compelling findings, illuminating! What’s the antidote to shame? Finding others who accept you, “shameful” parts and all, when you are ready to shine a light on who you really are 💡

As an autistic person who sometimes needs extra time to process what other people have said and come up with a response, I am extra grateful for the forms of communication and situations where an instantaneous response is not required or expected.

To seek a ‘cure’ for autism is to seek to eradicate a large percentage of the population who think differently, see the world differently and experience life differently. This is eugenics.

The thing that ‘causes’ autism is procreation. Not paracetamol, not vaccines, not mercury, not parenting, but basically just reproduction. Autism is highly heritable, largely influenced by genetic factors. Autistic people have always existed and will always exist.
