We’re hosting a hands-on workshop this Friday as part of @CapInclusive's Fundraising Bootcamp. If you run an accelerator or incubator program and your founders are still fuzzy on how cap tables and equity management actually work - send us a message to set something up 📩

Big week for the Mantle team at @FutureProof_HQ and #InvestOpsUSA 🌴 The AI conversation has turned a corner. A year ago, the industry was cautious. Today? LPs, RIAs, and operators are eager and ready to move. But momentum without direction only goes so far — and that's exactly why we show up. Our co-founder & CTO @dwayneforde joined reps from @StateStreet, Knollwood Investment Advisory, and Northstar Asset Management to talk cutting through the noise and making tech investments that actually matter. The energy was undeniable. The industry is ready. And Mantle is ready with it.

$7.6B of @GroqInc capital is now flowing... across a dozen share classes. Mistakes get made. This is why I built Mantle: Groq just distributed its first tranche from the $20B NVIDIA licensing deal. Two more installments are coming. The payout complexity is enormous: → Series A investors bought at $0.97/share → Last-round investors paid ~$32/share three months ago → Distribution price: $64/share → Employee options cashed out separately → Federal tax at 21% + California's 8.8% on every dollar → ~$2.7B in additional tranches still to come Multiple share classes. Different purchase prices. Staggered payouts. Vested vs. unvested equity. Tax withholding across jurisdictions. All flowing through one cap table. As a founder with many prior exits - and as an LP myself - I kept running into the same problem: what the company had on its register didn't match what I had on mine. At small scale, it's a headache. At $7.6B in shareholder proceeds, it's a liability! Most companies still manage this on spreadsheets. That works until it doesn't. And it usually stops working at the worst possible moment: a financing, an exit, or a payout like this one. @withmantle is the equity management infrastructure that keeps founders, investors, and legal teams on the same page. In real time. No discrepancies. No surprises. The deals are getting bigger. The structures are getting more complex. The cap table isn't just a record anymore... it's your infrastructure. Congrats to the Groq team and their investors on this remarkable outcome. And for every founder watching this: when success happens, you can't keep your cap table in your head, on paper, or in a spreadsheet someone built three rounds ago. Trust Mantle. theinformation.com/newsletters/de…

Most people in private markets have been on one side of the table. @avarma been on many sides: 5x Founder, LP, Angel, and ex-GP. His perspectives are exactly why this conversation hit so different for me. We get into: → Why AI today feels like mobile in 2008 → The chaos of LP operations (and how @withmantle is fixing it) → Building a single source of truth for private assets Full episode 🎙️👇

"The future flexibility, the rate at which you adapt and change, is super critical — and you guys have executed on that so well." Hearing this from Narayan Chowdhury (Franklin Park) meant a lot. Here's what he saw: If you were built pre-LLM, you're facing a brutal dual pivot. Rebuild your tech stack *and* reorganize your entire team. How you sell, support customers, engineer. Everything changes. On top of that, those companies are now competing against teams that are fundamentally built differently. And that gap is only getting wider. When we started @withmantle, we chose AI-native from day one. Not bolted on, but baked into our architecture, team structure, and workflows. We evolve at the same pace the technology does. We're not playing catch-up. The flexibility to adapt isn't a competitive advantage anymore. It's existential.

There is a massive advantage to hiring young people, and @Shopify was the first company to figure it out, says Pragmatic Engineer's @GergelyOrosz. "Shopify's Head of Engineering @fnthawar told me that he saw something interesting years back. Shopify was so early to AI. They got Copilot licenses for everyone, with no cost limit. But they didn't see many teams using it." "But there was this one team that was using it a lot more. There was an intern on the team. They onboarded the intern and gave the intern his two-week task and the intern was done in a day. And they're like, 'How did you do that?' He's like, 'Oh well I just used AI? What's next?'" "And suddenly the people on the team felt stupid, right? So they started to learn from the intern and use AI." "The next thing Farhan did was hire an intern for every single Shopify team. This is why Shopify had a thousand interns."

How is AI really changing the way LPs operate? This week, @avarma sits down with Narayan Chowdhury, co-founder and Managing Director at Franklin Park, to explore: → How AI is reshaping LP operations from the ground up → The challenge of balancing specialization vs. generalization in venture → The unique position of firms navigating pre-LLM legacy systems vs. AI-native competitors Apple Podcasts - podcasts.apple.com/gh/podcast/nar… YouTube - youtube.com/watch?v=Bz54hj… Spotify - open.spotify.com/episode/5mwDkR…
