@zackyoungquist I have had many conversations recently about how independently owned seed companies have as much potential in the near future as they ever had. Mergers/buyouts have seemed to distance big ag from the farmer more and more.

We parted ways with Pioneer 3 years ago in a majorly negative light but my respect and opinion of the majority of the people in that company is still very high. Pioneer is to ag as Michael Jordan was to basketball. This was a mistake. Farmers are searching for their roots again. This just shows how out of touch ag leadership is with the boots on the ground.

@awatson823 @NickHorob I pulled lidar directly from the source on command. Otherwise it’s massive files, unless you have them clipped by field boundary.

If this doesn't keep you up at night, I don't know what will! "Curiosity killed the cat," and I just had to start tinkering on an idea I had last night for mobile GIS viewing that was way more feature rich than anthing out there (spent about 3 hours on it). Just the start but its got me excited. What do you think?

@steeke7 @NickHorob I have lidar in Dropbox. Currently in the penalty box with Claude cause I maxed out my weekly limit trying to build something like this without web. Lidar data chews up Claude. Gonna go back to the drawing board!

Claude did most of the dirty work. Pulling from a Dropbox backup of my GIS files. It pulled in ESRI, NAIP and LiDAR data for me. But I also have those in my files. 3D viewer wasn’t to much of a lift for Claude code. I idea was a simple shape, grd, etc file view that is agnostic to your GIS program. (Ops, sms, GK, etc)

@NickHorob @HorFarms Web based makes total sense! 🤦‍♂️ sometimes the most obvious answers sits right in front of you. Like all of the common GIS platforms, they all lack something. I want to build my own. I am on a mission! Haven’t found an AI that is very good at GIS….🤷‍♂️

@NickHorob @HorFarms I have spent the last 2 weeks working I cowork to get lidar to be the base for all of my fields to overlay multiple years of yield, fert apps, soil tests etc. I max out my tokens with pro and it is because it is trying to process all the lidar in the background all the time.

There is a lot of stupid tools or gimmicks people try and sell farmers that they don’t really need. A gauge wheel press is on those things a farmer actually needs

@bandedagllc Been trying this for the past couple years and really like it. Seems to be the best of both worlds. I have tried spring strip till into small rye instead fall strips after the rye germinates and gets growth. I like fall strips in this scenario is better IMO.

@iamyourfarmer @JohnDeere Easy! They will approve you in less than a day. There was a weird config issue here though.

If you're a @JohnDeere Operations Center customer, you can access your data via their API. So you can do with it what you'd like (e.g. build a custom dashboard). A Fullstack Ag community member ran into an issue. We emailed support, and it was resolved in just 9 minutes. 👏

@NickHorob @AaronBobeck If you are on the fence with integrating AI into your day to day, give this guy a follow and consider aionyourfarm.com as a starting point. It has opened my eyes to so many ways we can actually use our data, and organize our operations. I use AI daily now.
