I worked 18-20 hours daily for months last year. I was doing 3 jobs (and like 3 personal projects) and slaving away, thinking I was hustling…stuff like this got me extremely dishonest with myself about my abilities. The result? I performed woefully in almost everything I was doing (by my standards), got fired from my first job and had to resign from the second. My memory was shit for months, had to get on medication to get my energy levels back up. I spent the better part of this year recovering from the crazy amount of fatigue that had built up. People saying shit like this will advice you to death literally. Fast forward to now and I sleep 10 hours daily, I’m much more productive and effective. I am still doing a lot of work btw but I’m able to do it much more effectively. My advice? Do what works for you, there are people that can function well on little to no sleep, if you’re not that person, don’t force it. Rely on your strengths and know your weaknesses.
