Hollywood Reporter reports Disney is exiting its $1B OpenAI investment and character licensing deal for Sora, after OpenAI decided to shut down the AI video tool and shift priorities. Feels weird. If a person is good at Python, does that mean they should be good at Java? Humans need training and lots of practice to grasp another language, so I'm not sure why that wouldn't apply to LLMs. Also memorizing api is one thing but understand and apply is another thing, which I believe needs practice or training.

This is more evidence that current frontier models remain completely reliant on content-level memorization, as opposed to higher-level generalizable knowledge (such as metalearning knowledge, problem-solving strategies...)

We found a task where LLMs struggle massively! Give them a coding problem in Python and they'd work great. Give the same problem in brainfuck and zero-shot their performance is ~0% +[--------->+<]>+.++[--->++<]>+.
