Seems FIFA has taken a leaf out of India's IPL. "Hydration break", apparently. A chance for the broadcasters to mint money by stopping the game multiple times. Football has been grappling with VAR simply because it spoils the momentum of the free-flowing game. This is worse. As a football fan, I find this a sacrilege

No, 2-3 English feeds does not mean Zee will show 2-3 English commentaries, it means Internation Broadcast Centre of FIFA will have separate feeds in many languages & one of them will be given to Zee & one clean feed will be used for Hindi, Bangla, Malayalam commentary in Mumbai

@tanayj Hard to say. Agree higher on Brazil than most. in the attached blog post, I note modeling international soccer from results only is quite difficult. Not many games, most are friendlies which may or may not be representative. New players joining….books account for this better

@IndiaSportsTV Still won’t believe a second that EPL’s big match had a 65k viewing..i watched every game of EPL this season..and every game crossed 10 lakh number easily..some big in between 5 to 10 PM even had 12 to 15 lakh..relegation team game numbers were much higher than what you wrote..

A decade ago, EPL rights value was 223% of the current value.
