@ShafiEastAsian @ShafiEastAsian what does it mean for Allah to 'transcend the petty limitations of space and time' ? Just be direct and say you believe in a static God that has no extramental existence

This Salafi anthropomorphist actually admitted that a God assembled like a child's jigsaw puzzle is more logical than an Infinite Being who transcends the petty limitations of time and space. He’s traded theology for a toy box.

@ShafiEastAsian 😭What are you even talking about. Anyways, the entailment of affirming hadd for Allah is spatial extension so go on and call Imam Ahmad a mujassim.

@aymanvro Meaning Your God is 4D designed by Ibn Taymiyya. ironically, your god is the one who doesn't exist, he only exist in your imagination where you used your mind to solve the puzzle of a jigsaw god🤣. As Imam Razi said, The Mujassima are ultimately worshipping nothing.

@abolore12345 @ShafiEastAsian Allah's size/magnitude is immeasurable, not infinite since Allah has a hadd (affirmed by some of the salaf) and nihayah and is ba'inun min khalqihi (separate from creation).

@Youuoyyououy @josh_avraham @bryancsk The verse doesn't even mention the Trinity so how'd you arrive at that conclusion? the Qur’an isn't trying to catalogue Christian doctrine, its addressing devotional practices it regards as worship within its late antique religious environment.

When reading the Quran as a non-Muslim you start wondering what kind of esoteric Jewish and Christian cults there were in the Arabian peninsula in the 7th C. What do you mean the Jews say Ezra is the Son of God? What do you mean Jesus brought a table a food from the sky?

@josh_avraham @bryancsk False. The Qur'an never says Mary is part of the trinity but asks the Christians why they've taken her as an ilah/God alongside Jesus which can be interpreted as a critique of the Qur'ans contemporary Byzantine veneration of Mary which the Qur'anic author deems as worship.

@bryancsk The best one is when it mistakenly includes Mary as one of the divine persons of the trinity

The Islamic category of 'makruh'--morally discouraged, to be avoided if possible, but not bright-red-line, you're-going-to-hell-for-this 'haram'--seems like a useful category lacking in both deontological and utilitarian Western ethics.

Cook, Michael in A History of the Muslim World argues Islamic isnād resembles rabbinic chains in the Talmud and suggests Islam adopted this style, then developed it more systematically across a wider range of material in Hadith Studies.

@OttokarHochman Do you have any theories about why Islam has remained the only unreconstructedly pre-modern religion, in the sense of not adjusting itself to liberalism in the way even politically right-wing Christianity and Hinduism have done?

In the Bible, when Moses requests a helper due to his speech impediment 1) God becomes angry. 2) It is God who nominates Aaron, not Moses. In the Quran 1) God is gentle. 2) It is Moses who nominates his brother Aaron, not God.
