Just watched Nolan’s #TheOdyssey . If you are planning to watch but dont know anything about the story, Here’s a 5-min Homework you can do so you are not lost.. Note: If you’ve seen the movie Troy (2004) or know the basic Trojan War story, you’re 80% there. Because this story picks up right after Troy falls. Backstory: Helen, considered one of the beautiful woman in the world, is married to a Spartan king named Menelaus. A Trojan prince named “Paris” comes and takes her away (Another version says she runs away with him) Menelaus is furious, calls in every Greek king who owes him a favor, and one of those kings is Odysseus, ruler of a small island called Ithaca. Odysseus doesn’t even want to go as he’s got a newborn son and a wife back home but he’s bound by an old oath, so he leaves anyway. That’s why he’s at war in the first place. Its not his war. The war drags on for years until Odysseus, the smartest guy of all, comes up with the Trojan horse tactic and ends it in one night.
