@steren You guys should focus more on this feature to combat long term cold start problem on gcp serverless! Glad its finally finding a solution, at least with the help of hardware! Btw Steren, Thanks for pushing Cloud run and efforts towards it from your end.

@ayyappa99 You're charged for 2x the CPU during startup time. It depends on your usage, but it's likely barely noticeable on your bill.

@steren Until now we were using min instances just to avoid cold starts. If startup boost halps in reducing cold starts, thats a great thing in-fact. Would love to know the pricing though to see how much it costs or details on how to calcuate.

@ayyappa99 They are complementary: - Min instance is here mainly for the "0->1" case and completely eliminates cold starts - Startup CPU Boost is here for N->N+1 and speeds up cold starts, but does not eliminate them. Use both, notably because CPU Boost doesn't impact your bill much

@steren Can you please compare the cost it takes compared to Idle Instances? I see this as more valuable feature compared to Idle Instances as the main reason for cold start is because of module loading. And this will be gone with this boost, hopefully!

@miargar Cloud Armor requires to use Global HTTPS Load Balancer. I do not think this is compatible with Firebase Hosting. But you can enable Cloud CDN and use URLMaps to get a similar feature set.
