@CelestialFlea @OliverChase1776 @defencewithac ironically your train example describes what the driver was doing - not the cyclist. the driver knew a cyclist was approaching on the left and decided to chance turning before they arrived.

This is the driver's fault, but I think we have reached the point where the law needs to be amended. The idea that a cyclist can just ride up the inside of a turning car and expect it to give way is stupid and inconsistent with how other road users work.

@defencewithac @CelestialFlea The nuance here is that the cyclist was no where near the junction when the car set off (and presumably checked his mirrors). The cyclist charged into the situation at high speed and tried to pass at the worst possible time when the car had already started turning.
