@UltraHDBluray What I get is that they are chasing the experience and not the fidelity. Either way, physical wins, power to them

I’m not talking about this image alone, I own an LG C5, and HDR implementation is always a gamble per piece of media (movie, TV, game), it’s a mess. I personally don’t like HDR and view my 1080p Blu-ray’s over 4k Blu-ray’s. I’ve had the HDR kool aid for years, I’m calling it out for what it is after going through a ton of HDR content on my own hardware with physical media, not based on an X screenshot

@azharcode @menonfilmpod it looks that way cause you're seeing hdr in sdr. of course it's dimmer. it doesn't look that way when actually viewing the hdr video itself

@omooretweets Privacy is a fundamental right, and it should not be given away. On-device AI is the opt-out everyone deserves.

So many people do not understand this - and it is core to consumer software👇 Gen Z and beyond does not care about data privacy as long as a product delivers for them Bank accounts, contact book, email access, camera roll, etc. - they will gladly give it up
spor@sporadica

Maybe it’s the Gen-Z in me, but i fully don’t care about privacy. I am post-privacy. I am giving OpenAI access to all of my finances, all of my health data, everything, I don’t care anymore

@nickbaumann_ What's the difference between local and Nick’s Mac mini local? In the top right rect

My laptop has become a “satellite device” since I started using Codex from my phone. And my Mac mini has become the “home.” It’s clunky, but the end state feels more like how we’re going to be working in the near future: I’m currently running the Codex app on 2 devices: 1. my MacBook 2. my Mac mini My laptop isn’t reliably connected to Wi-Fi enough, so I keep a Mac mini on my desk that is always connected. When I kick off new threads from my phone, I start them on the Mac mini. When I’m working from my desk, I run them there too. The cool part is that I’ve added my MacBook and Mac mini as connected devices to each other. That means I can start and resume threads from either device. So if I’m in a meeting but want to continue a thread on my laptop that was started on my Mac mini, I can do that. I’ve also set up mutual SSH for Mac mini <> MacBook, so files are easy to access from either side. It’s not fully seamless yet, but the model works. What this means: - I have an always-on Codex that is accessible from my phone, with its own dev environment - All threads are always accessible from any of the 3 devices - I can run heartbeat threads that stay on 24/7 It’s a little makeshift today, but the shape of it feels very real to me: Codex is no longer tied to whichever computer happens to be open in front of me. It starts to feel like something I can stay connected to across whatever device I’m using.

Codex is getting easier to automate and customize around your code. 🪝 Hooks customize the Codex loop with scripts that run at key points in a task: • Run validators before or after work • Scan prompts for secrets • Log conversations to internal systems • Create memories or customize behavior by repo or directory ⚙️ Programmatic access tokens provide scoped credentials for Business and Enterprise teams: • Create tokens from ChatGPT workspace settings • Use them in CI, release workflows, and internal automations • Set expirations or revoke access when needed • Keep usage tied back to the workspace

My theory is that the problem is that people are having AI think with/for them and write the article too . In practice, where AI could really help is with speech-to-text. These models make that a viable option now. If you are someone who can't sit down and type out an article, you can at the very least use your voice to get you 80% of the way

AI - in theory - should make writing easier, thus expressing ideas should be a lot easier. And yet, I don't see all that much more things that are worthwhile to read. Sure, there's a lot more junk. But I don't see more interesting eng blogs, personal tech-related blogs etc. What is going on? (Is this a discoverability issue? Or are people / teams not writing/sharing all that much more, indeed?)

Been helping users generate HtML to understand complex plans and changes for months now. But the real value of markdown is twofold, and html only hits the first one 1) clear, compact summary of a lot of information or intent - higher leverage faster easier understanding for HUMANS 2) a token efficient compact summary of information or intent for MODELS it’s important to know what your goal is - more leverage for humans, or more performance from models/agents If you need 2) then HTML is gonna blow up your context window way faster than 1) We often find ourselves using both, markdown for most cases, supplemental html if there’s an opportunity to make content more digestible for humans
Thariq@trq212

HTML is the new markdown. I've stopped writing markdown files for almost everything and switched to using Claude Code to generate HTML for me. This is why.

@anitakirkovska Some unsolicited feedback: the motion transitions made me want to throw up and made me dizzy. It didn't need to be so manic. That could be tuned for the next video

Launches are stressful. You try to do the right things, and you still make plenty of mistakes. Couple of lessons to share and things to own: - We went a bit too-sensational with the launch copy. Callouts have been fair, keep them coming! - We only worked with 30 paid influencers, but got botted by someone to look like we had more. Like there is no incentive for us to pay influencers to get more reposts than likes. Sadly, we can't do anything there - I've heard that the launch video was formulaic and similar to others, and while I agree with that sentiment, I still think that videos like these will get more engagement on X than others Competition in our space is so huge, I'm glad we got 1.2M eyeballs, and I hope people will see the work we've put into it! Now back to work 🫡

@GergelyOrosz I am amazed by AI bringing out all the people who don't want to do the work. The tool isn't the problem but the way it's being used by certain people really goes to show they don't want to do the work

Founder outsourced reachouts to AI. Sent me a fully AI + hallucinated message (claiming eg I invested in Retool, Notion, GitLab - all false) and closed with “The product is real. Public beta in a few weeks. I just need the right push to go full time and ship it.” My response
