John Tortorella declined to speak with the media after advancing to the Western Conference finals. The Golden Knights also didn’t open the dressing room after the game. They brought 1 player into a side room to speak, along with the two who spoke at the podium. I’ve been covering the NHL for nine years and never seen either of those happen once.

Quick update: the courts took one look at that referendum push and said “no thanks.” Petition denied. Game over before it even started.
Turns out you don’t just get to break up a country because you’re in a mood. There are rules. There are laws. And they apply to everyone.
All that talk, all that buildup, and it didn’t even make it onto the field.
Anyway, Canada’s still here. Functioning. Intact. Not going anywhere.

@BleedOilBlue I mean the Flames have traded all but two of their former core and finished in the bottom five. Two firsts last year and a pile of picks to make in the next three years. I guess that’s not “Decade of Darkness” bad, but the Oilers didn’t even do that by choice. They got stuck.
